What are your assessments on Will Davis during Friday night's scrimmage?

I like his aggressiveness yet he needs to fine tune his anticipation. You?

I thought he looked pretty good. Will is such an enthusiastic player, I think that he's great to watch. He almost made an interception which would have been 6 points. He knew that it was there for the taking.
Some would be aware that he is a consistent star at practice and some days he gets "white hot" and is capable of dominating with great play after great play (he had one of those days last week) - even intercepting Tannehill throwing to his top receivers. He goes for the interceptions and is not afraid of looking a goat and getting busted. He also has the sort of personality that is totally comfortable at being in the limelight. He's great in front of a camera and if he does become a good player, I predict that he will be something of a big time Dolphin celebrity. I'm a Will Davis fan and continue to think that he's a boom or bust prospect. Higher ceiling than Taylor but also higher risk. Because he is so good when he's hot, I'd like to see him given an opportunity to start in a preseason game to get a better handle on just how big a gambler he is and if he is physically strong enough to hold his own against much bigger receivers. Joe Philbin, Kevin Coyle and Dennis Hickey watch him every day. It will be interesting to see if they decide to roll the dice and play him as starter. This would permit Finnegan to play the nickel while Jimmy Wilson covers for Reshad Jones filling in at Safety.

I really like him! He is aggressive and fast but he gets beats all the time by the double move. He needs to be coached up.

I liked what I saw, he showed instincts that brought him to the ball. I hope he can continue to develop and turn into a reliable playmaker for us.

I'm also a Will Davis fan. He doesn't look like him physically, but Davis has a play style that reminds me a lot of Terrell Buckley.

Davis is at his best covering guys that do not have that extra top gear speed-wise or with help over the top. When he is allowed to look into the backfield and play his man tight, the kid has lethal interception ability.

With all these WCO teams around, Davis could really excel. He is the type of kid that could change a playoff game when facing QB's that aren't used to his style.

There are two ways to get an INT: beat the QB, or beat the WR. Davis is capable of beating the WR to the ball, and is a threat even to he best QB's because of it.
