Will defence be more creative 09???????????

Looking at our Roster and based on team selection 09, I Think our base 3-4 defence Will be very similar:-

SS - BELL
FS - WILSON
CB - W ALLEN
CB - V DAVIS/J ALLEN
ROLB - PORTER
MLB - CROWDER
MLB - AYODOLE
LOLB - ROTH/TAYLOR - depending on how well taylor looks in camp
DE - LANGFORD
DE - MERLING/STARKS
NT - FERGUSON

The question is though, on mid-long yardage on 3rd downs or even spread offences, will the usually conservative Pasqualoni be more creative.

Ill give Pasqualoni credit, looking at our roster last year and the defensive roster as a whole, to finish in TOP 10 was a real acheivement as we did not have the alternative options available like many other teams for certian situational plays mentioned above..........but not this year.

This Unit has been upgraded with the additions during the off-season, mainly I believe in its depth and options available. I would love Pasqualoni to be as creative as Rex Ryan or Lebau on 3rd downs situations. I know there is rumours about this quarter defence with 2 hard hitting safetys and 3 deep coverage. With this in mind and to get all our best pass rushers on the field, similar to what the Ravens, Eagles, Steelers and Giants do on 3rd downs, I would love the look of this on 3rd down situations:-


Vontae Davis S.Smith/J.Allen W.Allen

G.Wilson Y.Bell

Porter C.Wake Crowder Roth Taylor

Merling

With the 5 LB roaming and moving about, the 3 cover guys in deep coverage and the 2 safetys, poss in coverage or alternating blitz................I ask all fellow Fin Fans, If you were the QB and reading Pre-Snap............Where is the Blitz coming from??????????????????:up:
 
You can never have enough good pass rushers.
You can never have enough good cover guys.

I like the potential for blitz packages. Maybe not your line up but we have the potential for some havoc to be wreaked, and I'm digging it.

This is exactly what I have been asking for! I watch the Steelers and they look as if they have 8 guys blitzing and another 8 in coverage. I just want us to try new defenses and new blitz packages.

I think we can afford to have more creative blitzes now that if it doesen't work, we still have remarkable guys out there to cover

yeah i heard they are really going to decorate up de "fence" that surrounds the field area with lots of land shark art work. i cant wait! :crazy:

Its all about the packaging. As soon as i see "defence" I start to laugh out loud. Nothing personal. I just find it funny. Dont get so "defencive" over it. :crazy:

Agreed. I'd never get to talk about football if I spent my time here making fun of all the spelling and grammatical mistakes that take place here. It's just not a big deal.

defence = < educated :crazy:
 
last year we played the 3-4 like a 4-3 and only rushing the line and no penetration from the LB's. JT will help our pass rush x5. and hopefully wake will exceed the giganticly high expectations.
