I'm up in the New York metro area, and on his morning radio show, kind of in passing, Boomer Esiason said (almost exact words) "really looks like its going to be Jim Harbaugh in Miami". Didn't sound like speculation to me, and Esiason you would think is more tuned in to stuff in the NFL than your average sports radio host.

And when you think about it, it makes sense for Harbaugh. It looks like he's taken that Michigan program as far as he can take it, even with Urban Meyer "retiring." He'd have an owner that is gaga for him and weakish GM. So he can run the show more than other head coaches get to and he'll have a lot of leeway to build the team in his image in the long run.

We'll see.

I doubt it. I’m sure he would want control of the roster which he won’t get as Grier was just promoted. It would be amazing if he did come to Miami though.

Even if the players end up hating him after 4-5 years it would be worth it just to have the success I hope he would bring. Plus maybe after he's gone in 4-5 years the cup board won't be so bare.

I think way too much is being made of this "control over the 53".

Grier is said to have final say. That's fine. His final say may be to cede some portion of decision making to a HC, depending on the individual.

That said, it doesn't appear as though he's bringing in established guys for interviews. Mostly coordinator prospects.

I agree. If Harbaugh wants final say and that's the only thing keeping him out of Miami, I'm sure Gase will explain that to Grier. *If* Harbaugh is a target, fans will know in days.

Unless your Belichik, I imagine there's always a give and take between the coach and the GM regarding personnel. From Harbaugh's standpoint, I think he doesn't want a replay of what happened in San Fransisco, and Ross is probably better positioned than any owner who is looking for a head coach to give those assurances.

This has been my thought from the beginning...Chambers seems to have inside info
