Will Jason and Zach play on all downs this year?

I am kinda leaning towards thinking there rolls will be slightly limited to keep them fresher for the grind of a 16 game season and beyond. I think with the addition of Porter, the emergence of Crowder, Roth and others, both Jason and Zach will not need to play all three downs all the time anymore. To top it off Zach is TERRIBLE ON THE BLITZ, Opinions please!!!

Yeah, my opinion is that you are wrong...

For 1 Zach is STILL on top of his game and although he isn't a great blitzer he more then makes up for it in other ways... He's still the best coverage linebacker in the league and stuffs the run, usually if the ball hits his hands he catches it too. number 2, Crowder has not emerged??? I like him and everything but all he has shown so far is that he's a good tackler, he doesn't compare to JT or Zach in any way yet. JT is too high motor to take him out more than a few plays a game...

you make good points Hulk, i dont mention limiting there snaps because of a decline in there play, but to me the long grind of a season takes it toll on even the youngest, strongest and the most fit players in the league.

I do not think so, Zach is getting old and you do not want him winded so he needs to be a 2 down LB and taken out for a series or 2 if you want to play full bore when on the field.

J.T is not good in coverage againt slot / running backs / TE as he never played that position so he needs to be in rotation too.DE to OLB convertion at 32 is kinda hard.

How is Zach terrible on the blitz?....because he doesn't get to the QB each time? He gets pressure on a consistent basis and if the pass is forced to be incomplete, the blitz was still effective..in my opinion
If the offensive line controls the clock & the line of scrimmage more.... the defense stays alot fresher for the game and the course of the season....with alot more 3 & outs

i think it would be wise if we got another ilb that it better in coverage than zach. then he could come out on passing downs.
