Schefter said on Total Access tonight that the Lions will be further under their cap than previously thought..........He also said this would enable them to make a "major run" at Drew Brees. Will they steal Brees from us in free agency, like they did Woody 2 years ago?

if they sign brees....they don't get cutler....either way, WE'RE GETTING OUR FRANCHISE QB THIS YEAR!

I thought it was said that Harrington is going to be the #1 no matter what. This would really blow if they were able to get to him before us. :(

I doubt Nick lets this offseason go by without signing Brees or Culpepper without knowing that he will either get Young, Leinart or Cutler in the draft.

We will also have cap room to work with, and Martz works wonders with QB's, Millen should have faith in Martz that he will be able to get their offense running smoothly with Harrington, if not then they are just wasting money.

Lets see, who would you rather play for, the Lions or Dolphins? Nuff said.

MArtz has said he likes harrington..id be surprised if he didnt stay

Brees will have a lot of weapons on our team.

-Chris Chambers: Finally became a Pro-Bowl receiver. And I doubt he had reach his potential
-Marty Booker: A possesion receiver that is one of the league's leader in YAC
-Wes Welker: Receivers that are below 5'11 are supposed to be busts. Apparently, Wes didn't receive the memo
-Randy McMichael: One hell of a Tight End
-Lorenzo Diamond: Been know to spark comebacks
-Alex Holmes: Are new H-Back?
-Ronnie Brown: Hard-runner, can work with the slot.

Just reinforcing your argument.

My exact thoughts... Plus Detroit has way too many holes to "outbid" us for Brees. For him to go there you would think that Detroit would have to throw tons of money at him and they just have way too many holes to put that much money into one guy.

Isnt Chambers like 5'11'' or somethin like that? If so, I'm guessin he didnt get that memo either :D ;)

You forget it's Millen doing all the personel moves, so it doesn't matter how many holes the lions have to fill they will probably go and overpay for Brees.

Matt Millen said that he is going to stick with Joey Harrington as their starter because they have too much money in him right now.

I don't see Harrington co-existing with Brees. If Harrington is let go I think the Dolphins should pick him up. Sometimes players that were drafted by lousy organizations resurrect their careers when they join a good, solid organization.
I've always found it interesting that certain teams just seem to be perennial losers no matter how many high draft picks they get. I'm talking about the Cardinals, Lions, Jets, Bengals and Saints. They all have have had flashes of success, but they have never been able to put together any consistency.
