• The NFL and NBC must decide by Tuesday whether to stick with Patriots-Dolphins as Week 13's Sunday night game. The first two flexible-schedule games were kept in place: Eagles-Bears on Sunday and Steelers-Ravens on Nov. 29.

If NBC drops the Dolphins game, the most compelling option Dec. 6 would be Vikings-Cardinals. For that day, Fox protected Cowboys-Giants and CBS protected Titans-Colts, meaning NBC cannot select either.

Every Farve game this year has been very highly rated even breaking the all time cable record for his Monday Night game. The Vikes - Cards game will be a shoot out which networks love.

The one thing in our favor is Brady and the Pats are also a pretty big TV draw so I think they will stick with our game.

i think our game will be more imporant. i think fox and cbs get to chose one game they can protect so it cant get flexted.

I think so too, especially that NBC will probably expect us to win next week in Buffalo so this would be essentially an AFC east championship game (if NE lose to the Saints).

Yeah I mentioned that in my post and the Vikes - Cards game isn't protected.

^ By the way I agree I think they will keep us, just thought it was an interesting write up.

It always seems like it takes a lot to flex these games. It feels like if a game is even somewhat important, they will keep it. We should be favored next week and so should New Orleans, so if they go by that, Sunday night will be for first place.

They typically like to keep AFC games, especially if another network is already covering an NFC game. If they go away from the game, I'm guessing it would be for the Ravens/Steelers game, as there's been a network love affair with Pitt the last year or two (similar to the Pats). I only think the switch will happen if the Pats win and the Ravens/Pitt game becomes more important.

yeah it has to be a real dud to change it. theres too many scheduling issues(fans teams sponsors cities) with changing these games

If Miami wins next week, and the Patriots lose to the Jets or to the Saints, the Dolphins/Patriot game will be by far the most compelling game after Cowboys/Giants.

I dont think they will change it. Even @ 5-5, our games this year have been exciting and have been close through the 4th quarter (for the most part), And as much as lots of football experts pan the "wildcat", they all love talking about it.

no homer in my decision, but our game with the pats is the one that
should be shown. from a football perspective anyways.

its a division game with two teams who have no love for each other
and usually have pretty exciting games. playoff implications should
be pretty high for both teams by then.

the vikes and cards? probably a good game, but the vikes are clearly going
to the playoffs and wont have near as much at steak as the pats and finz
will.

BUT........ and were talking an oprah winfrey size BUT here.......

brett farve is the media darling of the sports world and always will be as
long as he plays. for some odd reason, his games get watched and thats
all the tv execs care about.

football SHOULD be the deciding factor on this. in a perfect world anyways.

but, in this world, MONEY and RATINGS will be the deciding factor.

brett farve will be the game shown. end of story.

pitt at baltimore is next weeks sunday night game. dosent conflict with us.

Both Vikes and Cards will virtually have playoff spots wrapped up at that stage so would be pointless changeing a game that will mean a lot more (if we beat Buffalo)

if we win the next game, and the pats lose to the saints (and possibly to the jets) , they won't budge IMO ... because it'll be a very important game in a division rivalry that features one of the best quarterback in this decade
