I see the normal ra ra who we should draft everyone has an opinion.
My question is does it really matter? Will Philbin play any of the rookies anyway? I don't know if it was coming from him or Sherman but in general the Dolphins don't seem to give rookies any playing time so whoever we pick is going to ride the pine.
Not going rehash the disasters of drafts around here in the past, one lesson I hope they learn is not to pick up any injured players coming out.

why wouldnt he?

if they can play and are ready, of course he would.

why would you ask that?

If they are good and healthy I see why not. They said he doesn't like ton play rookies but I don't see why any coach would refuse to play a very good player if it fits what they are trying to do.

pretty sure tannehill played a lot his rookie season, the snake played a lot, OV played a lot, Miller got a few carries. just because last years class didn't play much, doesn't mean philbin doesn't like to play rookies. it's all about circumstances, injuries, etc.

Just because 3 of our top 4 picks didn't play much if at all last year isn't indicative on how Philbin feels about rookies. Dion Jordan may not have lived up to expectations but he got time. Then in his first year you had Tannehill,Martin, and OV all get time while Matthews and Miller sprinkled in.

Depends on the position. Last year we had the luxury of keeping our rookies sidelined due to having solid vets step up. If the rookie is ready to play and there isn't someone better currently slotted at that position I see no reason why philbin wouldn't start them.

No, Philbin hates rookies and taxes....wait that was Richie...Philbin hates rookies and untied shoes...

Better believe if we draft Zach Martin. Hes starting. Anybody in the first should start for that matter. Jordan wasn't healthy for camp or else he might have surplanted Vernon. But that's also a rare case cuz we didn't draft a position of need. If we draft a OL he will start

People just don't like to accept that Philbin didn't play last years class because they were not ready to play more. The week Wake got hurt Jordan played probably more snaps than he did any game, the following week the staff went with Shelby as the starter because Jordan struggled esp versus run.
The staff said this but people want to act like its some fairytale and that somehow now Philbin doesn't like to play rookies which is pure BS

Maybe because we had the worst record last season regardless of excuse for playing rookies...and it's not even close

How do you credit a kicker with 0 snaps. He averaged 4 a game I'm sure. Kickoff and FGs. Nevertheless our rookies were either injured during camp and preseason which is when you earn playing time, or they were pretty bad like Dallas thomas

I remember Don Jones playing a lot of special teams too. Guess they don't count ST

If we don't pick from the scratch and dent special like last year I am sure he will.
