i know since marino we haven't had any great quarterbacks.
but it seems like we don't even give qbs a chance.
do we need a marino caliber qb for fans to be happy?
or will some one finally get a chance to step out of the shadow of dan the man?
thoughts..

No, until one manages to get the Phins deep into the playoffs consistently and/or a SuperBowl win.

I am happy with Pennington also but some Miami fans were not even happy with #13 so theirs really no winning.

Maybe it's because I don't live in Flordia. But I haven't minded the quaterbacks that have come after Marino. Sure they haven't gotten us far into the plyoffs. But truthfully Marino only lead the team to the Super Bowl once.

The other reason I don't have a big problem is because I live in Colorado. I don't even think resident Floridians can come close to the epic bitching I hear from Broncos fans about how no one can compare to Elway. If Marino had gotten to the Super Bowl more than once and won a ring, then I think the complaing would be much worse.

Again that is just me.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I feel like Marino has been a curse to the fanbase of this franchise since he retired. People became fans of Dan #1 and the team #2. A lot of these fans, assuming they still are fans, will never be happy without a gunslinger like Dan (there won't be many, if any like him) and will do nothing but complain about the present situation without Mr. Marino and talk of the good old days when he was here....even though most of those days weren't good. We were 1-15 a couple seasons ago...I'm happy.

I'm happy with Pennington and have no faith in Henne yet...hopng here soon Henne gets it together...however, I loved Marino, he was fun to watch and was an incredible passer however he didn't win a superbowl either so am waiting for another Marino? Nope, I want one that can pass like he did but that can win the big one. Let me tell you if Penny wins us a Super Bowl to me he supersedes Marino in Dolphin History.

No. As long as we are winning I'm happy.

I don't care of our quarterback is Rex friggin' Grossman...As long as we're winning.

I don't see how any Dolphan can be unhappy with Chad Pennington up to this point. He took us further than anyone thought last year, and has shown he is a leader of this team. Winning cures all, the reason fans have not been happy with some of our previous QB's is because they are not winning and making mistakes that cost us games.

I think fans will be fine when we get a young QB that all the ESPN analysts fall in love with. Personally, I'm jealous of Green Bay. I think they have a good thing in Aaron Rodgers.

Pennington is a really good piece of duct tape. But I'm really hoping Henne will be the long term answer for us. He's not the starter until 2010, so everyone that is saying Henne blew his chance this preseason should remember that he still has this whole year to develope under Pennington before they hand him the reigns.

I know everyone is ready to turn it over to Henne in 2010, but he still has to earn it. There is a possibility of Pennington coming back or even getting another QB here.

I agree, I'm not ready to declare him the starter like the Trifecta has, but I think people should get off his back about not being ready when he's supposed to still have another full season of development before he is thrown in the fire.

I'm an Ohio state fan, I hate Michigan, but I think Henne has shown that he has the potential to be a good QB for us

Marino type QB's don't come along that often. Let's hope we land one again some day. We were spoiled by Danny.
