Will Poole might get to start

That is realism, and you folks are going to see it if Sam spends any significant amount of time covering Chad. Chad is NASTY good.

Chad is pretty good, but I don't see him getting 200 yards against Madison if he is one on one with against.

How often does anybody get 200 yards against any NFL corner? If Chad is going against Sam, he has the potential for a big game. His top game last year was 131, and his career high looks like it's 152. I think it's fair to say that he could get into that range against Sam. I would even go so far as to say that a 90-100 yard game would be likely.

Too bad no one said he would kill Madison. Point is, Chad Johnson is an elite receiver and Sam Madison is not a shut down corner. Johnson is too much of a threat to be lined up 1-on-1 for a good amount of snaps against Madison. It's that simple. Now is that saying Madison "can't hang" with Johnson? No. That's just putting this as realistic as possible.

Exactly what I was trying to say..

not very often. However Moss would if he was on most corners one on one.

not being able to hang means he is totally unable to cover Chad Johnson.

If the safties do their job, Madison would do just fine against him. I see a 50 yard day for Johnson. Most of Madison's "mistakes" come from the fact that he was supposed to have safety help. I think the safties are more important to stopping the Johnson than Madison and Surtain.

I'm still trying to find out who said that Madison "can't hang" with Chad Johnson.

ya let will start

The kid has potential, but let's try to keep him from making a start in his second NFL game if we can. Let him get at least a good half season under his belt first...

Madison can hang with anyone in the NFL except RAndy Moss because of his height and leaping ability.
Second, Kelley Washington from Tenn., this guy has never lived up too his potential, Will Poole from USC could school Washington.

Third, Our defense will shut down Cinn., CARSON, and the boys! They haven't played against a defense like ours!:fire: :cooldude: :cooldude: :fire:

Nah man, Chad(Beach High Class of 96 In Da House, He was our QB back then hehe), he's sick, right behind Moss and gaining ground as far as WRs rank, 1355 rec yards and 10 tds last season, 1166 and 5tds in only 14 games as starter the year before plus on pace for over 1500 and 16td after game 1.

Madison is good, but this has to be one of his toughest matchups this year.

Also, this is Kelly Washingtons 2nd year, behind warrick and Johnson. How has he never lived up to his potential? He was good in college last I heard. Recievers take much longer than a lot of other positions to get "good". Take a look at most recievers and you will see it takes them a season or 2 to get everything into their head + get the opporunity to play before they can be an impact. Terell Owens only had 520 yards his first season, and that was with him starting 10 games.

That is something I disagree with. The only position I can think of that takes a much shorter time than reciever to get good at is runningback. The rest take about the same.

You have been spoiled by Chris Chambers and watching guys like Andre Johnson/Anquan Boldin.

Here is a sampling of the first years of good receivers. Remember that you have seen Owens already:

Chad Johnson: 28-329-1
Torry Holt: 52-788-6 (nice, but not nearly his subsequent production)
Marvin Harrison: 64-836-8 (ditto)
Joe Horn: 2-30-0
Marty Booker: 19-219-3
David Boston: 40-473-2
Isaac Bruce: 21-272-3
Hines Ward: 15-246-0
Laveranues Coles: 22-370-1
Cris Carter: 5-84-2
Eric Moulds: 20-279-2

I think that's enough. Something that makes a big difference here is opportunity. Washington isn't going to get time to shine from Johnson, so he has to battle it out with Warrick to get exposure. A guy like Andre Johnson has no problems pushing his way through weak competition.

Aside from that, we have to remember that even if Washington was a "1st round talent", he had serious surgery months before the draft. He was a 3rd rounder. I don't believe he was even expected to play as much as he did last year. How is that not living up to potential?

FYI, Warrick will be playing. He will probably be questionable all season due to a sore knee, but last week he looked spectacular.

He is a good player, looking forward to seeing him in action against my Phins.
