What is Will Poole's status at the moment? Is he going to be ready for pre-season?

I dont know but I do know that he is going to have a harder time playing time wise because of all the DB's we have signed and re-signed.

Very tuff for a corner when he hurts his knee. Dont expect him to have a great year next year. Corners need there knees more then any other position in football. With runningbacks at a close second and Recievers at third. Will Poole has some great potential and i hope he doesnt rush back. It would be WILL and WILL at the corners. kinda weird.

I was just curious where he was health wise. Im glad that we met the need at cb in free agency because we really do need depth there. I think poole has potential but hasnt proven anything yet.

I don't have a link, but I read an article in a sports magazine that said he is back to running and he feels very good, he also says he is looking forward to getting out there on the field for his fans.

I dont know if thats the case anymore. With more and more success stories I think when the knee is properly heeled they dont miss a beat. Antonio Cromartie is back and runs a consistently in the 4.3's. McGahee plays the most dangerous position especially with a knee and has been fine and can make all the cuts he could pre-injury.

i truly think if healthy that Poole will be the starter opposite Allen. He reminded me of young Surtain when he did play. I think he is seemed more talented than Danials the previous year.

Surtain and Madison > Poole and Allen

but maybe one day..

Poole and Allen > Surtain and Madison

that idea :hump:

You have a short memory. He played nickel his rookie season and he played very well.
He has proven plenty.
He was also injured in mini camp last year so he has had ample time to recover. It would have been worse had the injury occurred during preseason or the regular season.

In limited action during his rookie season he had 26 solo tackles, 5 assists, 5 passes defended and a sack. Not bad for barely seeing the field. Oh yeah...also returned one kick for 22 yards.

Don't forget...Poole was 1st round talent that slipped to us in the 4th due to concerns about his maturity etc. He was pretty much voted the steal of the draft that year. Poole can and will be a great corner as long as his knee heals ok.

People have extremely short memories. Don't they ? I recall both Pat, and Sam missing time with injuries, and he filled in nicely during each one's absence. His play almost made you forget they weren't in there.

This pick came to be known (by me) as the pick that Wannstedt got right.
