With our O-Line:

Jake Long - Justin Smiley - Jake Grove - Donald Thomas - Vernon Carey

Will we be able to open more holes to Ronnie?, Long and Carey are both top 20 NFL tackles, Grove is a great run blocker, Smiley is a better than average guard and Donald Thomas is a god-send according to Bill Parcells.

The Wild-Cat offense:

You really never know when is Ronnie going to get a direct snap or a pass or even throw a pass, eyes are constantly on him, but if Pat White shows to be a threat, Ronnie will lose some of the opponent's eyes.

So, thats why I ask you, will Ronnie be a top 5 - 10 NFL RB this year (in fantasy terms)?.

Please post all your thoughts!.

Only if he get the carries & receptions he needs to do so. Ronnie averaged about 13 carries a game last year and only carried the ball a total of 30 times over the last three games of the season.

I don't know if Ronnie will ever be in the top five in stats as he doesn't get as much carries as some other guys. But he can run and throw for TD's out of the Wildcat, and also catch some passes. I would just like to see Miami as a team put up more points. It seems like we're always scoring around 21 points a game, which was 21st out of 32 teams. I think we can score more points.

Sporano says he likes to split the carries so no Ronnie will not get the opportunity to put up fantasy numbers. I do fully expect him to make it to the probowl again as the people who really know (coaches and players) understand he is elite.

on this board he is the best back in football so it really doesnt matter. With more wildcat to come I dont see him being a top 5 back.

Coaches and players also voted Brett Favre so thier opinion for pro bowl is not all that stellar. Funny when other players produce its fantasy numbers but when our back is like 19th in the league there is an excuse for everything. The pro bowl is basically a popularity contest for players, coaches and fans.

I think he is already, but I think we are smart in using a RB by committee to keep them all fresh. A solid healthy line should help Ronnie, Ricky, Patrick, Penny, and Henny!

He's the best back in the NFL according to FH, so, it's really doesn't matter. You put his stats and ability with the Pats or Jets and we'd all be making fun of him and saying he sucks.

Will Ronnie Brown Be A Top 5 NFL RB This Year?

Yes.

Last year was a rehabilitation project for him.... He still proved he can be an Elite Red-zone back, break long runs consistently, and make the first guy miss 90 % of the time.

This year, Ronnie is the workhorse... The O-line is solidified, loaded with depth (Gardner,Berger,Alleman,Murphy,Ndukwe)The wildcat clearly makes him even more dangerous for 25% - 40% of his carries. Expect him to catch more passes out of the backfield like in 07'.... He's in a contract year too. I expect him to start the season on fire and get a new deal before the end of October !!!

Who is better suited to be a top 5 back right now than ronnie ? Hard to come up with more than a handful of guys, I think.

I think he is the best all around back in the league, honestly. He's certainly not the best at racking up yards of course, I mean, he did only have 950 yards. But he blocks like a tight end, catches like a receiver, and runs with a purpose, while never fumbling at that. To me, I'll take all that over a one dimensional back. Yeah, yards are nice, but they aren't everything.

i think as long as ronnie and ricky are sharing snaps ronnie will not be able to crack the top 5 list of nfl running backs

As long as he is playing with Ricky he won't get the carries he'd need for many people to think of him that way.

Billicheat said when asked if there was one player he would like to see out of the AFC, it would be Brown.

His whole career has been in platooning systems. There's no reason to think he can carry the load, given the ammount of seasons he's finished in his career. Platooning is where he has his success, and, it's where he'll stay, IMO. He finished the whole year and was a nice piece of the teams success this past year. Its no coincidence his overall touches were limited.
