Its pretty obvious now, we are not going to win with Gus as our QB. Yes he knows our offense better than the other two qbs and yes he has the best game management skills. unfortunately he has no skill.

accuracy is the most important attribute a qb can have unless you have a top 5 defense (which we dont). the reason its more important than game management is if youre an accurate passer you can make up for your mistakes.

If however, the only skill you bring to the game is game management, then as soon as you are behind by more than a touchdown the game is over.

We should let Sage start, maybe not against the Chiefs, but if we lose again then the week after that.

The question I have is up to this point in the season it seems to me that Saban has gone out of his way to defend Gus. Do you think Saban will continue defending Gus after this horrid performance or do you think that eventually Saban realizes that Gus wont help us win and gives Sage a chance

I enjoy this weekly thread.

It's especially fun the week after when Gus steps on the field again.

I was waiting for the Bench Gus, start Sage thread too...it won't happen...we are stuck with Gus.

no..especially after he throws for 267 yards (which BTW I have no idea how he did).

I hope he does. Saban said he wants to win now and thats not going to happen with Gus. If he didn't have enough time to throw or if the receivers dropped balls like some peoples on here saying he would take up for him. But stats don't lie and he looks horrid out thare.

We should cut his a$$

YES!! It is, afterall, our deepest position!! /sarcasm

I don't think we'll see Gus benched.............yet. It's a tough argument when he's not so much doing anything ridiculously bad, but not really helping us win either. It's all those misses down the field that hurt the most. We had a couple of surefire touchdowns down the field today and last week ruined by bad throws. The fumbles didn't help his case, but he was pretty much swarmed, so....I don't know. I would be afraid that the team morale would take a turn for the worst if Gus gets benched at any point this season, unless he's playing absolutely miserable.

With Denver defeating New England at the moment, we still are in the division race and will be for awhile I believe. It's a bit too early to to put Sage or AJ in and throw the season away.

Gus didnt throw a pick this game...and he did subpar without a running game..why bench him

fine. put sage in. gus is not taking this team anywhere. play sage? what the hell...maybe he will play decent and have trade value.

some may say that it means the fins have given up on the season. i say that to continue this same offensive game plan and to rely on players to make plays they cant make is giving up on the season.
