This upcoming draft puts alot of pressure on Nick. Do you think he'll follow the trend and throw a first day pick at another QB? Two years ago we spent a 2nd on Feeley. Last year we spent a 2nd on Culpepper. And looking at what we are going into the off-season with, we have a strong collection of quarterbacks;

Culpepper: A physical monster just trying to recover from an injury. It wasn't that long ago Culpepper put up a Top 3 season in NFL history for a quarterback (and yes Moss sat most the season). In addition Culpepper adds that highlight reel ability to move in and out of the pocket.

Harrington: In his own way recovering just like Culpepper. Harrington spent alot of wasted time in Detroit and needs to mentally recover. Before drafted he was thought to be a stud. He is showing great signs, and just needs a bit of time to develop into a strong NFL quarterback.

Cleo Lemon: Highly regarded in the NFL in terms of a #3. The boys in San Diego were sad to loose him, he shows great signs. Could be a great backup, and the best #3 in the NFL no doubt. May even have the potential to become a starter (Jay Fiedler type). Shows great mobility as well.

In addition all three of the guys are around 27/28 years old. None are too old, nor are they all that young.

However it is obvious people are calling for Saban to bring in a new quarterback. All three of the quarterbacks we have could fall apart, or become something great. Do you think Saban will make the move with yet another first day pick on a quarterback? For three years running?

All I can say is, anything short of a playoff birth in 2007 will be considered complete failure. We MUST be in the playoffs in 2007. Saban knows that the pressure is on him.

Not sure I agree with that. Saban came in from a 4-12 season and produced a winning season. This year may be two in a row, or a close to .500 season. Many teams have been at that rate (or worse) for a decade now. I think Saban has until the last year in his contact to make the play-offs (5th year), and even then if progress looks good, I think Huizenga brings him back for a 6th year extension.

i hope we get j.russell on the first day if we can. he is a good qb and young of course.

If Troy Smith falls to us then I would be all for picking him up. However, I am also up for Dante and Joey competing for starting spot next season.

Another year of gelling and if we get a better start than 1-6:tantrum: , we should be okay.

Enough is enough we've been through 5-6 QB's with these same recievers. Booker and Welker are far exceeding any previous season they've had here and yet one thing remains the same Chambers is nowhere to be found.

It's time to quit changing QB's and start giving some other recievers a chance at the #1 spot. This offense has built some stability with Harrington and he is continuing to improve there is absolutely no reason to draft a QB this offseason.

How many Qb's do we have to go through before we start changing up the recievers?

You really think the receivers are the issue? OJ and Gadsden made Huard and Fiedler look bad? McMike and Chambers made Feeley and Frerotte look bad?

I'll be very upset if we don't get a division title next year. We were suppose to do that this year and I'm still pretty steemed that we won't be accomplishing that. Division title or bust next year!

I don't think Saben will draft another Qb, he seems like he has alot of faith in C-pep.

Didn't Frerotte get Chambers 82 catches, 1118 yards and 11 TDs? That's a darn good year, it's not the receivers, it's Joey.

Feeley and Culpepper are not what i call true draft picks. Neither came from college and neither were/are the future of our Franchise IMO. Im hoping Culpepper comes back but im hoping we have/get a plan B in the mean time.

Regardless of how good he is, we NEED to address team need. We NEED to draft in the early rounds OL and DL. The experience we have on the D-line won't last forever and young guys playing along with the veteran studs we have now will greatly inhance their progress. Winning games may look like it is done by the QB or the big INT, but in all reality it's the lines that make and prevent pressure, run block or break blocks to make tackles that win the game. That is where I would put money on him making upgrades at.

AMEN!!! We've been bottom feeding for OL for almost a decade - and we have a line which couldn't block a grocery cart. It's time for a LEFT TACKLE who is Huge, Hostile, Hungry, and Hustlin'.

No way we draft a QB on day IMO unless someone drops. Until Culpepper fails this year he deserves another shot to redeem himself.
