Will Saban keep Ricky the rest of his carreer?

I do not pretend to be able to tell the future and I have not spoken to Ricky or Saban. I do however read many of the books that Ricky has read and have a very similiar philosophy. Ricky is not your prototypical athlete. He is immersed in the eastern religions/philosophies which teach you to live in the now and the future will take care of itself. It teaches us not to cling to such materialistc gains. They will only hurt us in the end. The key to happiness is understanding yourself.

That being said; Ricky will not require a large contract. Ricky seems to have a connection to Saban, and will hold loyalty. It will be hard for him to play for any other coach unless they treat him the way Saban is.

Saban reached out to Ricky and has said he will not be traded. I believe he is a dolphin for life.:)

bingo! the guido gets it! really, who the F cares now that Saban is here and has everything in control. If Wanny were here, it would be a disaster, but Saban knows exactly how to handle it philosophically where ricky will have his loyalty to him for understanding and recieving him. Saban will use Ricky as an example to the rest of the team and already has intrinsically, which puts everyone in the right frame of mind to do what is neccessary to win ball games. Saban loves Two very good RB's and the reason he got Ronnie instead of Caddy is that he loves Ronnies versatility in all phases of the game and they are planning how to use that right this very minute.

Insurance goes both ways dude.

Ricky right now is not a luxury. He is absolutely needed. Ronnie Brown hasn't even taken one NFL snap, so for all we know he's Lamar Gordon #2.

Should Brown show that he's just as good as Ricky, then Ricky becomes a luxury. Until then, Ricky will be needed and not just considered an extra piece. Of course, he'll never be the complete focal point of an offense again but that doesnt mean he wont be the #1 back.

I think Ricky is gone by the end of this year. Saban knows he's trouble. I expect a trade around weeks 7-9.
In all due respect, but that is an absolutely ignorant statement. Thank god your not in charge.:shakeno:

You can't make trades in the middle of the year like that.

No. There's no salary cap in college. You keep one great RB, not two. You put that money elsewhere. This team has needs.

no needs? how about a decent qb for the first time in 5 years?
