Won't happen. Huizenga saw what happened in Washington. He ain't that dumb.
Don't be so sure of that. He was dumb enough to retain Wanny after the end of the 2002 season, so anything's possible. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he tries to hire Spurrier.

All we know is that the likes of Mortenson, Peter King, etc say that Wayne liked Spurrier. I think that Wayne was intrigued with Spurrier BEFORE he took the Washington job. At that time, there was no confirmation that he couldn't coach at the pro level. If/when Wanny is fired, Wayne will need a coach that is qualified and brings people to the stadium. My guess is that he will retain Spielman because he has done very well and give the 'coach search' responsibilities to him. In addition, Wayne seems to consult others with big decisions so i wouldn't be surprised if Shula, Marino, etc have input into a coaching search.

Here's another thought. Wanny seems really 'out there' this year. I get the sense that he doesn't give a damn any more and has resigned himself to the fact that he is headed to U Pitt next year. This whole thing about playing the QB that gives the best chance each week is crazy. Start Feeley and STICK WITH HIM. Then, this crap about saying "you wanted us to pass more and this is what happens". He seems to be trying to legitimize himself. Has he ever heard of playing to your talents? Could he really be as stupid as he sounds? Are most coaches like him and we just don't see it? He just annoys me to no end!

If Wanny were fired there are doubts Trestman would be promoted to coach. According to that WAnnstedt faces mutiny ordeal, some coaches threatened to walk if he promoted Trestman to OC. SO, I dont think Trestman promoted to head coach would sit well with the rest of the coaches.

Of course Dave denies that report and the coaches say they are past early indifferences, so it could mean nothing at all.

EH, why worry if Dave gets fired, let's worry about Sunday and the Bengals. ;)

Spurrier doesn't have the work ethic to be an NFL coach. And his system doesn't work in the NFL. The reason it worked in college is because 3rd and 4th college DBs are developmentally behind 3rd and 4th college WRs. So when you line up 4 WRs in college, you make the defense put 2 guys on the field (the 3rd and 4th CBs) who are really bad players by comparison. The 3rd and 4th WRs exploit the 3rd and 4th CBs all day. That don't happen in the NFL, and that's why his system doesn't work. Similar reason why the wishbone has never worked in the NFL.
Yes ,you have hit the nail on the head.Spurrier is at best a college coach. He is innovative but not structured enough to be a HC in the NFL.

I hope not, and im also glad we didnt get Tom Coughlin.. It wouldn't seem like Coughlin and our guys would mix to well as evident from yesterdays Phila/Giant Game..

You know Huizenga likes Spurrier. I dont think Spurrier would fun n gun with this team cus i think he knows you have to run the ball in the nfl. he would defenitely use feeley and get another WR in the mix but the question is: if we go 0-4 the first four games, does wanny get the axe early? fans are restless like never before and expectations are playoffs.
Please....Don't ever even mention this again in your lifetime. Never.

Yeah, I think your right on this Muck. Spurrier would be an even greater downfall to this organization. He just has no organizational skills like someone else said. In the NFL its the real thing and not playing against college guys who mostly will never play pro football.

& AGAIN WHAT WAS THE SCORE TO LAST YEARS MIAMI & STUPALO BILLS GAME !!!!!!! :roflmao:

Someone tell me this.. how would Spurrier not be an upgrade? He can't hurt our defense, because he really won't touch it, and our offense can't get much worse, and he is an offensive minded coach... sooo?
