Will Spurrier be the next coach? When?

Spurrier reportedly "wants" the dolphins job, but i think it's time to bring in a new coach, give someone a chance, I do not want to see any retreads.

Two things I know will happen if a change is made:

1. Wayne will be looking for a big name coach, but he will let his football people suggest who to hire.
2. Eddie Jones will submit a list of names to Wayne, and chances are, those names will have head coaching experience.

I remember when Jimmy retired. Reports came out about who Eddie Jones was prepared to go after. He had a list of names. Those names were Bill Parcells, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, Butch Davis, and Don Shula. It has also been reported that Wayne did toy with the idea of Spurrier in the past. It was said that his decision in 1996 was obvious. Jimmy Johnson. But, in the case that Jimmy turned the job down, Wayne was going to attempt to convince Spurrier to take the job then.

I personaly do not feel Spurrier wants to coach in the NFL again, nor will Miami look at him.

Hello all,

I'm think SOS would jump at the chance to redeem himself in the NFL.

I also think Tampa Bay would be SOS's dream job, not the Fins.

SOS coached the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL.

Does anyone remember the interview Spurrier had on ESPN when he got the Skins job? He said that he couldn't understand WHY all these NFL coaches put in all these late night hours. I beleive he said it wasn't something he needed or would do. Well he knows now. The USFL and college is NOT the NFL.

WHat we need is a coach who KNOWs how to work with what he has. Someone who can recognize our strenghs (receivers, TE), and our weaknesses (running game, middle running) and use our strengths to the full capacity...Did you see us going Deep at all in that game? Maybe once. WHat other weapons do we have that we need to utilize? Nada....We need to come up with a game plan that focuses on spreading the field. And I do think running is very important, but the way we play right now, there's no sense in running it right up the middle. If anything, since we don't have the big bull dozer any more, we've gotta take what we got (Gordon, Morris) and set them up to run to the outside. Would it hurt to run a qb sneak once ina while? That's gonna force the D to have to stay in and watch him. Exactly like Indy ran against New England.

Spurrier is a great college coach and a horrible NFL coach. Huizenga hopefully wouldn't be stupid enough to hire him and I doubt he would want to come back to the NFL anyway. I think Spurrier will coach college football again next year.

H. Wayne saw what happened in Washington WITH the checkbook wide open, so I doubt it.

Bring in the Tuna.

I think I'd stop watching NFL football while he was here if the Dolphins were to hire the DEVIL.

Whoever brought this thread up....should never

have done so...the thought of another incompetent getting this job makes me want to chuck.
