there is going to be a lot of pressure on cam cameron to make this offense better. he was brought in because of his work as an offensive coordinator, and he is commonly referred to as an "offensive guru".

do you see cam focusing our free agency/draft period on getting offensive players? or do you think he will pay equal attention to our aging defense?

Obviously the offense is the most important thing to focus on right now. We have alot of rookies on the bench that Saban didn't let get any playing time this year but are poised to take over for the aging vets. Matt Roth, Fred Evans, Kevin Vickerson, Jason Allen. We are pretty stocked up on defense the only part I see needing as much attention as the offense would be our Corners.

The defense will be fine so long as Capers is here. I'm sure we're not going to backslide just because Cam is coaching now.

Cameron doesn't seem the type to cannibalize the defense to make his offense better. He's not Mike Martz.

Why would it? You think Mueller doesn't know defense? You think Dom doesn't know what he needs? We'll be fine.

Capers is the one who has to worry about Defense , last time i checked he made our defense $th overall without some average guys so i believe he does the same especially with 1 more yr under his belt maybe even #1 Dee...sign a CB via F.A. and we will be okay ....

Cam will focus on O because thats what we need , maybe Ginn or Quinn n rice in the 2nd u never know but hope we good some good Offense i only want Gaine Adams if we get D with the 1st pick anything else n i will be pissed

Mueller said that a pass rushing OLB is a top priority, he won't neglect either side of the ball. Cameron can coach up the offense and Capers will coach up the defense

I remember people crucified Jerry Angelo in the draft last year because his first four picks for the draft where defensive players that he added to a really good defense. He said that you always feed a strength. I thought that was a very interesting approach. Keep the defense healthy by feeding it and add offensive compenents when you can. I'm not sure it's right, but it's a very interesting thought.

Capers will keep the defense going.

i understand that capers will have this defense playing well this year...

my question is about 3-5 years from now. capers will likely be gone by then.

depth on the defensive side of the ball is one of the most important things when building a consistently successful franchise.

I don't think either side will get more focused on. Both sides of the ball have either question marks or age.

Capers has a 3-year deal. It's possible he could receive an extension, but we should be in good shape thanks primarily to Saban's defensive drafting. We might swing to a few offensive positions in this upcoming draft, but we'll have to go back to defense at some point to address depth as our defense is whittled away by age and free agency. We'll have to start addressing that as soon as this offseason: Keith Traylor still has not said that he's returning, and I'm not sure Wilkinson can carry the load by himself, as good as he was this season.

As far as Capers' succession goes, if we can retain Dan Quinn (defensive line coach), he'll be our DC after Capers is done.

Capers is no sure thing to ever get a head coaching gig again, two shots sometimes is all you get. Hopefully he'll always be bringing along good assistants in the event he does get a shot.
