Will the Dolphins be the Tampa Bay Rays of football this season?

The Rays are a young team that are dominating the AL East, will the young Dolphins be able to dominate this football season?

I honestly think we are a sleeper team. IMO we go atleast 9-7, and be the suprise playoff team. Ricky is as good as he has ever been, Pennington is one of the top QBs completion percentage wise, Ginn is an absolute beast, Bess is decent, we have a good oline for the first time in ages, and our defense should hold up like it usually goes. Woot!

get the line to work together and become a top 5 line
Ricky and Ronnie make the whole season
Ginn becomes a top level guy
Henne be ready to take the reigns next year

I'm not expecting anything like that. Last season provided some much-needed perspective for me. If we win 4 games, I will savor that as an upgrade over last year.

considering how pathetic south florida is, i would doubt it. a basically brand new franchise, with an old *** stadium and first winning season in history and we are still pulling in 5 thousand more a game then the Marlins who have a winning season right now and couple championships in this decade..

only problem is south florida is a destination for many snow birds and other people throughout the country, even a damn philly game has half philly fans... our fan base is weak and the marlins deserve better and should move.. but the dolphin fan base will increase, a good thing but what we call bandwagoners :shakeno:

I think we can. Its impressive what the Rays have done, even though they havent done any major changes. Their young players just matured. Hopefully we'll see that happen with our team.

And I think that if you can do it in baseball, you can do it in football. In baseball, there's 8 playoff teams. In football, there's 12.

I dont know if we'll make the postseason, but we will definetely surprise a lot of people

there is a lot of ifs.

if all the ifs work then yea we can push for 8-8 or 9-7 but
if chad gets hurt, what do we do.
if ricky and ronnie cant make the whole year then we have patrick cobbs woo hoo
if ginn cant step up then we have hagan and wilford wow how will defenses cover those two.
if joey porter doesnt create more pressure with blitzing who will step up as a our pass rusher since we lost a decent one in the offseason.
if channing cant be the defensie game manager then who?
can yerimiah stay healthy and play a full season as our starter?

its tough. If things go right then this should be a decent team and a fun one to watch. But as in previous seasons things start off decent and then injuries happen and our team goes to hell.

I say we'll see. I really like what I've seen from the FO, coaches, staff, and the nice showings we had in preseason. I just hope these guys can be more fiery and competitve this year. I expect a lot and we have all the potential in the world to become a sleeper team in the NFL but show me and I'll actually believe it.

I think we will not be laughable. I will be satisfied if we go 7-9, as long as we continue to get better. I give this new regime 5 years to get us back to the playoff dolphins we are use to.

Yea, but you have to understand something. That was a day game on wednesday. Schools were open and people were at work.

I see us being more like the florida marlins. a young team, thats inconsistent a little but shows flashes of being great. I expect a 7-9 season and that will please me.
