I want to be optimistic about the future with this team, but there are way too many questions yet to be answered for me to get a real warm fuzzy about the future of our beloved Fins.
Will Daunte ever be the same again, if not can Joey quit being the king of the Turnover?
Can our rapidly aging defense infuse enough young talent to keep them up there as a top shelf defense?
Can the oline finally get some continuity about which these guys can really gel and play as ONE?
Can Olindo Mare learn to kick again, if not can we find his replacement ala Donnie Jones replacing the Turk?
Should we replace Mularkey and if so should we look in house maybe J. Garrett?
Will our current group of receivers ever quit dropping the ball?
Can we find a backup speedy wide receiver or running back who also doubles as a legit take it to the house Kick returner?
So many questions with hopefully a few good answers.

sadly no...not unless they learn the ways of the force..er..salary cap! As in, get under it ($25-30m), and stay there...build thru the draft, keep all their picks, and get better talent in FA..

we should be in the playoffs next year. The major pain was done this year by overturning the secondary and oline. we still have pieces to add but the major scale overhauls are now behind us

Next is the splash time....The best thing about the nfl is that most teams could add 3-5 players to the team via FA/draft can take a average team like the Phins to a Playoffs team with a chance to march to the SB.

da mistake dat cost us this season was letting drew brees out of town

To let someone out of town, they must first be in town. Brees was never a Dolphin.

And no, that wasn't a mistake. We planned to have a vertical passing game, which Culpepper (who has always been accurate when throwing the deep ball, and whose injury was decidedly NOT to his passing arm) was the better option when planning for that kind of passing game.

Breez was in town and if you think Culpepper was a better option then you better put down that crack pipe right now. Culpepper was the worst move this team has made since signing reggie howard! If saban would of made the switch earlier we would still be in the playoff hunt!

I think he meant when Brees came to Miami for his free agent visit.

As for your other point, numerous sources have said the Dolphins made Brees a solid offer, so either a) that plan was not etched in gold; or b) they felt he could throw downfield well enough to matter, which he has done numerous times this year.

Inconsistantcy is killing the team.

Turbulence is killing us.

I think Nick needs to lay in the bed he made now and,
make stuff happen. I'm not going to keep makeing excuses for
ANOTHER OC.

Sadly, our resugence will happen after Nick. He will be like Bellicheck and, go on to greatness, haveing made his mistakes here.

I respect the guy.

He's just overmatched right now, I think.

I will have to get back to you on that answer, my magic 8 ball is acting up.:sidelol:

Hopefully next year we get this up and running!

Right, go tell Saban and the medical staff:rolleyes:

Stupid Saban getting a Pro-bowl QB for a 2nd round instead of A.J. Feely...LMAO

You're engaging in hindsight. Here's a better scenario:

You've got two QBs interested in coming to your team. Both are accomplished. Both are recovering from injury. One has a severe injury to his throwing arm, requiring multiple pins, with his ability to throw the deep ball in doubt. The other has an equally severe injury, but to his knee, not his arm. He can still throw the ball deep, just as you, the coach, want. The QB with the extensively-damaged arm wants more money than the QB whose arm is fine. You are extremely limited by a salary cap mismanaged by the previous coach and GM.

Who do you choose? If you still go for Brees in that scenario, well, I'm glad you aren't the coach or GM.

It's amazing how quickly people here have written Culpepper off and embraced Harrington. I guess people prefer the devil they know, the QB who can only effectively manage a game.
