Will the fins have the same horrific O line

Is it me or is the O line going to be the same as it was last season?:lastyr:

It is the same right now pretty much, well not quite as bad. Last year we couldn't even get plays off in parctice because guys didn't understand terminology.

Big difference. This year's line will improve more of course with Houck the guru at the controls. Plus, coaches like Saban make guys more accountable for their mistakes and tell it like it is. That helps raise their bar itself I think. Wanny could watch a fiasco and would still say "Well golly gee wiz, the effort's there it's just tough you know. Gosh they sure are trying hard at least even though we had 11 sacks in yesterday's game. Did I mention the effort was there? Golly shucks".

Saban and Houck will single guys out in practice and work on the problem.

That was my biggest fear coming in to this season. Everyone tried to assure me that the online would get better than last year. While it has gotten better, there is still a huge need for improvement.

Same here I bought the same hype. Said the new o-coordinator rebuild this line but, to his defense Rome wasn't built in a day. O-line is the hardest position to play especially when you add a new system let's give them some time.

By mid-season they will be playing much better..... or they won't be playing at all. Saban has given notice! He said if the current players don't perform, he'll get some more that will.

But where will he find decent oline players midseason?

I believe that he was referring to an ongoing process. Not so much by the end of this season.
But one thing's for sure, if they don't get better, we won't be seeing them next year.

It's better on paper but they havent jelled at all. I am seriously concerned going into this week's preseason game. Time is running out for them to get their act together.

Last year i seriously did not think the O-line could be anyworse than what they had been in years past. but they proved me wrong and stunk it up.

Right now I have a little more optimistic because we do have different coaches.
But i am concerned that they still are having trouble finding something that will work out. the season is about to start and we are still spinning our wheels.

Who knows if this keeps up maybe we will end up picking number 1 next year.
