Why did they admit it so soon??? Why admit it at all?? It took other coaches and players to catch the cheatriots over a period of time. To admit you knew everything means every team the Jets face have a chance to mess with them. Switch up your play calls enough to mess with them

Not saying the Jets weren't impressive last night, their run game is scary as well as their secondary.
But this helped me cope with their impressive debut at least a little.

Jets are notorious for Monday Night Thrillers.

Going to be a tough divisional game as always.

Thoughts?

I remember the same scenario after Marino threw 3 interceptions (Two pick sixes to Larry Whigham and Jimmy Hitch****) against the Patriots in '97. The Patriots had figured out the hand signals. This ended up prompting Jimmy to get rid of Gary Stevens and promote Kippy Brown to OC.

When teams have figured out your hand signals - it signals the end for somebody.

Not the Jets fault that the signals are easy to get. We had the same issue under both Sherman and Lazor

I immediately thought of Bill Lazor / 2015 after I saw that about the Jets knowing the Lions' signals.

Go, gogo!

That was Mike Sherman in 2013. That just sticks out to me because Mike Sherman kept getting called out by the media on a lot of things that season and every time he got called out he would get pissy in the press conference, then seem to absorb the criticism for just ONE game.

For instance, one week when it was pointed out that the team was running the ball well, Sherman got mad about it, but then came out and called like 12 rushing plays in a row. Another week, after being asked repeatedly why the team didn't QB sneak in 3rd or 4th and inches, he called a QB sneak, and it worked. He then NEVER called one again. And the other one I remember, after the Go/Go-Go was pressed by the media, they intentionally changed the cadence and ran a couple of plays where they switched it around. And those worked, lol.

This was known right after the end of the game. The only holder over from the prior Detroit staff was Cooter

Jets defense says they knew what plays were coming vs. Detroit Lions

Jim Bob Cooter may soon be under fire.

“The Detroit Lions offense was tipping their plays.”

Remember this old narrative from the era in which Joe Lombardi was offensive coordinator? Well, it’s back.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Dan Wetzel, the New York Jets knew what was coming on Monday night, and they punished the Lions to the score of five interceptions and just 10 offensive points allowed.

.

Detroit's coach downplays Jets knowing plays.......yeah right sure they didn't. Sounds like coach Matt Patricia is trying to save face.

Lions' Matt Patricia: Every team knows some of what opponent will run

Matt Patricia and Todd Bowles on Tuesday both downplayed statements made the previous night by Jets players, who said they knew exactly what the Detroit Lions were going to run offensively during New York's season-opening 48-17 win.

Patricia, the first-year Lions coach, said every team has an idea of what will be run by its opponent.

"I would say in general there are a lot of things that go on in the game that are identifiable to players on both sides of the ball," Patricia said. "In the course of a game, that kind of happens at times that those things come up. There's certainly very simplistic things that are used in the course of a game where guys do a good job of hearing things or studying things and seeing things, seeing stuff.
