have the ability to hire and fire the HC. Not according to this article. Modrak Not Interested In Phins GM Job
January 4th, 2004
Jason Cole reports for the Miami Herald that Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Tom Modrak doesn't appear to be interested in the Dolphins general manager job and views the job as a a lateral move. The Dolphins received permission from the Bills to talk with him Tuesday, but as of Saturday, they still had not talked to him directly.
Modrak essentially performs the same job he is being offered under Bills general manager Tom Donahoe and is not expected to interview unless the Dolphins enhance their job to include all football operations, such as the ability to hire and fire the coach.
