Espn was saying that he has a 9.5 million cap number next year, and is a Lawyer Milloy cutting candidate:eek: .................Will he be cut?...........Can we cut Madison, and Marion and "hand" Law their money? I would do that in a heartbeat!

Clump......................?

Let's think about this. Why would we want him?? He would cost more than Madison, which would be stupid of us to spend that money. so my answer is uh......no.

He would take up Madison's salary slot, he doesn't make much more than Madison.................

we w/take a huge cap hit releasing Sam before 6/1 and we need all the money we can gather for our O... restructure Sam's contract and keep him and improve the O - that needs to be our mantra

He will restructure. The Pats played hardball with Milloy and kicked his a$$. Ty will play ball to make decent jack and stay on a championship team.

This whole topic/discussion blows my mind. We have possibly the best CB tandem in the league.... why would we want Ty Law? CB's are dime a dozen these days. I say Let's stick w/ what we've got and work on the Offense.

Right now he may not, but he will command more.

That statement couldn't be MORE wrong.

Anyway once you go through the trouble of cutting Madison (before June 1st) the savings are so insignificant that if you sign Law you've just added probably 2 million onto your cap from what it would have been if you just kept Madison. Meanwhile Madison is all set to restructure, so that means even more opportunity cost of going after Ty Law because Madison's 2004 figure would now be significantly lower if he stayed and restructured.

In other words its just not a very smart move. Our best bet is probably to try and play hardball with Madison a little bit and get him to take a pay cut...at the very least a restructure job that doesn't necessarily put us in even more of a mess a year from now. If he doesn't play ball make him a June 1st casualty then go out and find a stop gap. Madison has not been performing up to par in the last 2 years anyway, so replacing him won't be as terribly difficult as it once would have been
