Will Travis Daniels Start Sunday

After watching the replay on DirecTV's Short Cuts, I was impressed as hell with Travis Daniels. While Howard and Madison each took their turns, Daniels was on Lelie most of the game and completely rubbed him out. The irony is that the knock on Daniels as a corner was his relative lack of speed, yet he owned a guy who averaged more than 20 ypc last year. We've got a winner in Daniels.
 
Howard doesnt look exposed in Saban's zone philosophy, and has more experience. He will start next week, barring injury or some other freak occurence. Period.
 
Don't mess with success. Daniels is being set up to succeed the way he's being played and there is nothing wrong with that. Reggie Howard is also playing very well for the Phins ever since the Chicago preseason game where he took lots of flack for letting Muhsin Muhammad get behind him.

I'm very happy with our starting 3 corners here. Unfortunately, after that, we're in serious trouble. If we suffer injuries, we're in more trouble than New England was when they had to convert Troy Brown to corner full time. I believe THAT is why we're keeping the chance alive for Will Poole to come back off the PUP.
 
Just thought I would officially eat crow for calling Howard a TERRIBLE pick up. The guy has played very well since the Bears game and even though I think Daniels has played extremely well - Howard deserves hte starting nod.
 
Nothing wrong with Reggie Howard IMO. He can't be that bad if he lasted on my NFL2K '04 edition through 16 Suberbowl winning seasons. ;)
