Will WAKE wake-up his doubters next season?

Depends on how much he plays if he becomes a every down player rushing the pass like what we did with joey porter a couple years ago when he got 17.5 sacks i could see wake breaking the single season NFL sack record

a back up linebacker with 5.5 sacks.. i think he woke up his doubters by his limited snaps and playing time, now lets just hope he gets more next year

He already woke up his doubters. I haven't heard people talk about **** since he backed all his supporters up.

Here's a little fun fact...

Jason Taylor - 828 snaps 7 sacks.
Joey Porter - 755 snaps 9 sacks.
Cameron Wake - 187 snaps 5.5 sacks.

WOW.

I love the energy Wake came in the game with and I hope beyond all hope he continues to show "the beast"... but.... We mostly saw him in the 4th qtr of games, completely rested and ready to go... My question is what would his energy level be in the 4th qtr, if he became an every down player..??

Just based on the averages of that, if Wake got the same number of snaps as Porter he would have had 22 sacks. Now we obviously don't know if he would have kept up this pace, he could have slowed down a ton but it's hard to imagine he wouldn't of had 10-15 at least wit the way he was playing.

He needs to work on stopping the run so he can be an all around player before he sees the field every down.

I'd be happy if he just had another season like this past one. Specialist 3rd down pass rushers are very valuable and it's not just the sacks he got - he led the team in QB pressures as well (equal with Taylor)

Everyone seems to assume Wake will replace Porter as a starting outside linebacker. He's got a hell of a long way to go before that happens. I only remember him getting any snaps there in the game Porter was suspended for and he looked a bit lost. Even when Roth was cut it was Moses, not Wake, who replaced him in the outside linebacker rotation so he's clearly got a lot to learn about how to play that position

Yes. Mike Nolan isn't afraid to attack like Pasq was. He knows to use his best pass rushers. That being said he still has a ways to go. All his success last year came as a DE, not as an OLB.

Even if he isn't an all down player he needs to be on EVERY SINGLE passing down. That was not the case.
