With the entire Cowboys regime coming over, I think we have to.

From that point, I would say that our draft attention shifts from Chris Long and Glenn Dorsey to the best OT or OLB available. I really think Michael Oher (Mississippi) and Vernon Gholston from (Ohio St) will really climb up the draft boards in the next 3 months.

I would say yes, based on what I know of Parcell's history. Unless we can't get enough personnel to make the change in a single off-season. I heard John Clayton address this issue a couple weeks back, and he seemed to think that Saban had already gotten our defense moving in that direction so Parcells may not have that difficult a task.

I think most teams mix it up a little anyway.

I think so..... Tuna is in love with the 3-4 Def. As for the draft, I think we trade out of the #1 spot for a couple more picks.

I think so but Parcells may not do so first year out. Depends on what his transition plans are and how fast he wants to make that change. That probably depends on how many people he feels he's going to need to make it work

Perhaps, but I really liked the concept of the hybrid system.

Me too. I think conceptually Cameron and Capers had better systems than our new Miami counterparts

Cameron and Capers just didn't have the ability to run the hybrid that Saban installed. I think it was a big reason it failed when Saban left. Nick the dick may have been a two-face liar but he knew how to manage that defense.

Yup. I think Saban definitely had that defense hybrid down pat. I think Capers ran out of healthy players early in the season though so I'm not sure how to view his defense. I kind of think it just fell apart due to injuries and old age

Injuries and age played a role outside of JT and Zach but looking at Crowder's dropoff in play, I really have to think something else went wrong. A lot of times, people were in the wrong places. I also feel we need a real DL coach because the dropoff across the board, young and old, was widespread. Soliai, Roth, and Moses hardly developed as much as Roth had under Quinn. None of their youth mistakes seemed to be pinpointed and fixed. The DL is everything in the 3-4.

Roth had a quad injury that bothered him the whole year from training camp on. Solia just couldnt learn technique quickly enough which is common for rookie Defensive linemen and Moses played alright I thought for a rookie. Zach Thomas looked horrible at the beginning of the season. Jason Taylor didnt seem to be playing with the same fire. Porter didnt start to play well until half the season was over and Crowder just disappointed bigtime as a inside backer. And we havent even gone into the secondary lol. Overall everything that could go wrong did

You're right that the backups were woefully unprepared but I honestly dont know how much blame to put on Capers under these circumstances. I plead the 5th:D

Something I read on Tony Soprano's speech stated they would mold the system to the players rather than the players to the system.

And the spelling is intentional.

Oher's staying in school.

True, Capers shouldn't be responsible for all that's happened. Though JT did turn it up later in the season as did Porter. There were some questionable calls defensively but that's about it.
