There's been a lot of talk about the Wildcat. It's been shut down with corner blitzes, and the have-been and current defensive gurus are celebrating in the streets.

But it's the pseudo-anniversary of the unveiling up in Foxboro.

Ricky's hinted that the Wildcat needs to evolve.

Everyone's saying there needs to be a passing component, now more than ever.

Pat White isn't ready. Is he?

Who else can throw? Can Ginn? Ricky?

What about the Wildhorse? Do we start doing interesting things with the real QB?

So sound off right here and leave your prediction in the poll. Does the Wildcat evolve this weekend?

I vote for the same wildcat with a few added wrinkles and an average performance. . Belichick will be very prepared after 2 weeks of film study

Please vote! I'd really like to have an accurate picture of what finfans are expecting re: wildcat going into this game.

Not an option for essentially the same Wildcat, but moderately successful. I dont think the Pats defensive personnel is as good as the Jets, but also think they will trade blows shutting it down and the fins getting some good runs now and then. Might be a wrinkle or two thrown in, and as much as I'd like to see Pat taking some quality snaps, I don't think he is ready yet.

I'm sure our guys have been practicing against corners blitzes all this week. I think the coaches will find a way to counter the blitz.

First what denver did with the wild horse is simple. Mayo was injured and guyton a UDFA was the mike LB. josh would go into thei swild horse and forcek guyton to freakout and check out of the play calling to base defence. The cb gave more gap and hence orton had the 5-8 yd passes all day.Not how you are going to suprise Mayo with guyton again as now they know what is going on.

When you account for corner blitzs you are asking your tackle and TE to hold the edge rather than doing some down hill blocking of LB> Now you have free LB coming into LOS with no blockers.

Pat white has be the wrinkle have you seen ronnie and ricky step up to throw it is so slow as they are RB. The one more thing is when ronnie has both hands on the bath he is not handing it over. When hs has 1 he pop its in ricky hand.

i think the option pitch-out is a good play for the cb's blitz's. pat white was supposed to do that once, but he f'd up and kept the ball. lol

There was a play in training camp practice where Ginn threw a pass. I dont think the WC will "evolve", but I think we will see a few plays that we haven't shown yet, all of which were drawn up during the offseason.

Agree with everything you said. And yeah, I've always felt like there are telltale signs of whether Ronnie will give to Ricky or not - but I imagine defenders can't see those things when there's 15 guys in front of them blocking their view.

I believe there will be some added wrinkles. For a while now I have had the feeling they have been holding back a bit in what they will expect the wildcat to grow into until they decide to unveil the new wildcat, and as far as I am concerned, there will not be a bigger game for the Dolphins then this week at the Patriots....this is a big game, and don't be surprised if Miami pulls out all the stops to score every time they have the ball.

Miami wins this game, they are not just back in it, they will be in very good shape w/ the toughest part of their schedule behind them.
