Will you blame Philbin if he's unable to seal the deal?

I won't blame him. However, if you don't blame him, how could you blame Ross and Ireland if they were the ones meeting with him? Can't have it both ways.

Because that's how this forum goes but I still believe the choice is Manning's and his alone so no sales pitch really needed because he knows where he wants to play.

When he went to ARZ and DEN he didn't go to meet front office ppl within those teams. Reporters can say Manning gives a **** if Elway was or wasn't the GM, it still doesn't make it true. He went to talk to the football guys that he will spend day in day out with for the next 3-5 years. The other stuff, like showing him where the parking lot is, what color the bathroom walls are is simply for those teams to feel good, and for Manning to apply pressure on the Phins.

Condon is his agent, and Manning would be a fool to not allow that man to earn his money, and do what he does best. Increase market value for the players he represents. There's a reason why Manning hired him.

Manning knows what options the Phins, Broncos, Titans and Cardinals have in FA and the draft better than they do. You can bank on that. Why waste your time with ppl like that? After all if you sign with any of those teams, it's understood, Manning has to approve it, or it won't happen. The GM the moment Manning signs for w/e team, is nothing more than a NFL scout.

you're telling me that manning did not meet with the gms of the broncos and the cardinals when he visited their facilities this weekend???

No. I will blame Ross for having a big mouth. By openly stating that he wanted Manning before he was released, he gave Manning's people the edge to use us as leverage against other people. But this is of course we don't sign Manning.

Buy I will tell you this much, I am already fed up with this Manning watch. I am ready to move on.

Where/When did Ross openly state he wanted Manning? I'm looking for the quote...not what a reporter thought. I may be wrong, but I don't ANYONE with the Dolphins told anyone else "we want and are going after PM when he is released", or since then.

Don't swallow garbage just because it's delivered to you.

When did this happen? I kind of think if Ross did this, the NFL would have thrown the book at him.

IMO he didn't go there to talk to the front office ppl. Meaning the main reason he went there was to talk football with their football ppl, for 6 and 6.5 hours, in fact.

If that wasn't clear, apologies.

When did Ross 'openly' state this?

Hell no I won't blame Joe! I said yesterday are only shot was to have Stevie and Neff sit in the corner with a fresh new box of crayons and a stack of coloring books!

I think Joe's at a disadvantage being a rookie HC and Peyton might not want to risk his legacy playing for a coach that nobody knows how well he'll fare as a HC. We'd probably be in a better position at this point if we ended up getting Fisher since he has a long history as a HC along with a long history of playing against Peyton from all his year's with the Titans. Don't know how well they would know each other on a personal level but you'd have to figure that Peyton would at least have respect for him.
