This is a question that i have always wondered. Does anyone think that Zach has the ability to become a coach in the NFL? Me personally, i think that he's got exactly what it takes to become a coach in the NFL. His success came off of his ability to study game film, study tendencies of teams, and apply what he sees to the game. he is able to adjust to the offense and lead a team, even in bad times. he might not make it to head coach, but i definitely think that he would be a great defensive coordinator

He reminds a lot of Mike Singletarty in that respect, who has been mentioned now for a few years as a head coaching candidate, after coaching linebackers and defense coordinator in Baltimore and SF. The question will be if he still wants to be involved after his playing days are done. He certainly has the football knowledge to do it, but not everybody can coach, just like a great salesman does not necessarily make a great manager. Doing and teaching/motivating are not the same thing. What I have heard though about his relationship with the younger linebackers on the phins leads me to believe he can coach someday, just look at what he has been able to do for Crowder who may not be the brightest bulb in the batch.

depending on if he wants to stay around football when his playing days are done, then i can see him becoming a LBs coach obviously, then working his way up to DC.

i think he would be a great LB coach and if he does i think he should come coach for us

You know I never heard his aspirations to become a coach (you hear that alot when a guy is getting up there in his playing time).

So that being said I dont know if he would want to become one.

If he does I think he would make an excellent positions coach to start and grow into the DC (maybe). It all depends on if he has the drive to do that cause I sure think he knows the game enough to be a good one at some level.

He seemed to like being an assistant to the coaches last season while he was hurt. You usually don't see too many great players become coaches for some reason, but Zach might look to go that route once he is done.

If he wants to coach good for him but if he doesn't that is good also. I'm sure whatever he decides to do after his playing days he will be good at

He will LB coach for us 1 day mark that. its just in him, and he loves miami its his home now.

I think he has made comments before to the effect that he would be interested in becoming a coach after he's done. The key on that one is that he's a guy that you can truly say is addicted to football. He can't stay away from it.

I do think he'll coach. It's hard to say what kind of coach he'd be because he's a quiet guy, not exactly a fierce guy. But his strengths as a player have always been extremely hard study work and fast diagnosis...so that gives him the tools. What I don't think would be very surprising would be for him to finish his pro career and then head back to college, maybe his alma mater Texas Tech, and go coach some linebackers and defense down there. He may make it back to the pros as a coach but he also may just like it too much.
