Senior Bowl 2004: A windy first day
By NEIL STRATTON
Inside the League
Unlike last year’s mild climate, the first day of workouts for the 2004 Senior Bowl was very cold and windy, with those unlucky souls who attended the simultaneous North and South workouts in shorts or without a jacket wishing they’d made another choice.
Both the North and South teams worked out in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts, mainly going over plays and beginning installation of the basic offenses and defenses that will be used Saturday.
Hard to handle: During workouts, Tulane’s J.P. Losman was very inaccurate, seemingly sailing the ball over his target’s head or bouncing it at his feet on nearly every throw. He looked especially inaccurate on the move. After practice, he complained that the NFL ball used in Mobile is much more slippery than the ball favored by the NCAA.
