Longtime Ravens DC, Wink Martindale just parted ways with Baltimor. Would he be a good HC for the Phins? Or, if Ross brings in another baby-faced youngster as HC, I would bring Martindale in as DC/Assistant HC.

‘Thoughts?
 
Could work I suppose. Didn’t the Ravens play a blitz heavy defence?
 
I thought he would have been a HC by now. His name was trending a couple of years ago.

I was surprised he was fired.

The problem with not having the offensive guy as the head coach is, after a year or two of success, the offensive coordinator walks out the door for a head coaching job somewhere else and you are starting over again on the offensive side of the ball.

Cam Cameron, Tony Sparano, Joe Philbin, Adam Gase..... Our offense still has been in shambles for the last 15+ years. I prefer the best overall HC, i dont care about side of the ball, cause the best coach will get the right people in position to run the Offense and Defense. The problem is i dont know who that person is.
 
Head coach, probably not. Defensive coordinator, I could see that. I think his D ran quite a few cover 1 and cover 0 blitzes like us

I disagree. I want to go the Andy Reid, Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Bruce Arians Kliff Kingsbury route. The offensive system is put in place by the head coach and stays in place regardless of who leaves his staff.

I can give you an even longer list of defensive guys that flamed out. Just because the guys you listed failed, it doesn’t mean the logic behind their hiring was flawed.
 
If we could get Daboll or Doug Peterson as HC, Bienemy as OC, and Martindale as DC, that would be incredible. But Bienemy isn't leaving KC for an OC job
