to me, either you are a winner or a loser on the football field. so far, the trifecta has done a decent job of weeding out the losers. however many remain. i call for the following players to be traded or cut this offseason:
1.) Ted Ginn
2.) Gibril Wilson
3.) Joey Porter
4.) Anthony Fasano
5.) Channing Crowder
6.) Will Allen
7.) Paul Soliai
22-0 says it all. that was the 4th quarter score. we knew the saints would fight to the end and make a game out of it, but we gave them wayyyy too many chances. you cannot just give the opposition an opening, you must make them earn it.
some final quick thoughts -
henning is getting too cute with the personnel packages and the use of the wildcat. whats the deal with having a rb, fb, and two tight ends on the field on a 3rd and long? i know our receivers suck but at least pose the threat of a downfield completion.
pat white has resulted in more negative than positive.
why isnt ronnie utlilized in the passing game?
ted ginn's murder by a fins fan would be viewed as justifiable homocide.
fasano is just not good enough as a receiving threat. we are missing david martin big time.
why isnt ronnie on the field more? pound the rock with him please.
crowder cannot cover ANYONE NOR can he generate pass rush. please get him out off the field on passing downs. so many completions in his zone.
bonamego has to go. no lanes whatsoever on returns and terrible kick coverage for the most part this year. punt team has been ok with v. davis and j. allen.
polite whiffs sometimes and that hurts us.
porter is all talk. he doesnt have it off the edge anymore. jt is actually better.
bell stepped up in the blitzing/run dept. but his closing speed to the ball on a pass play is not there. hes always a step late. thats why he never has picks.
we were 2-4 last year as well...the season is not over but for all intents and purposes we are done. for god's sake the bills have a better record than us. like parcells says, "you are what you are" with regards to record. great teams find a way to win. we are not a great team. we are seriously flawed in many areas and good coaching will expose that.
