On the board, this concept has been mentioned several times. No coach has ever done it? Can it be done? Or is it impossible? I have heard some people say they don't want a Super Bowl winning coach for this reason. I ask those people this questions, "If Belichick was available, would you take him?". Is this seriously an issue?

Sure, John Harbaugh or someone like that would have plenty of years left to build another team st a new club if he wanted to leave. Why not?

It's a weak argument in my opinion.

Don Shula did win an NFL Championship before heading to Miami.

Dick Vermil came close to one in Philly before heading to the Rams, think he made the playoffs with the Chiefs as well.

Parcells came close.

Gruden got robbed with the Raiders (tuck rule)

Somebody will do it someday.

The answer probably isn't as simple as take a coach who already won one. The Dolphins found that out with Johnson. Still I don't think having a Super Bowl win should disqualify a candidate. Think about it, we can't hire you because you won a Super Bowl.

Fun fact, although no head coach has won a Super Bowl with two different teams, several coaches have been there with two different teams: Shula, Parcells, Vermeil, Reeves, Holmgren, and Fox.

I think you can make the case that coaching talent is portable.

No Dolphin fan in their right mind should use this excuse... A superbowl victory?? ****, I just want a coach who can let me experience a damn playoff APPEARANCE for once!

I'll be happy to get there, even if we lose.
