A couple of years ago, I was hopeful that we would bomb the season so that we coul draft Andrew Luck.

I am not hoping that we will bomb this season, because Jameis Winston is not Andrew Luck. He's also a goddamn rapist.

If Tannehill has a hell of a year these morons will still be calling for Winston.

Andrew Luck was the closest thing to a "can't miss" QB in a long time. He was playing out his final season after a great career at Stanford. ( i hope no one mixes up Stanford with FSU).

Beside the problems with "trying to be a loser", you can still lose on the guy you want. The Rams were also 2-14 that season and the Vikings were 3-13. One unlucky bounce of the football and the Colts have the 2nd or 3rd pick.

Plus who says that player will be the player you wanted? What if Luck had his knee torn up in their 9th game of their season? Or in Winston's case, he is finally arrested for something and ends up in the Supplemental Draft?

IMO you would have to be a idiot to be counting so heavy on a "maybe" situation.

The booby prize is dumb and it sets fans up to root for losses, or worse, sets owners up to cheat. A lottery should have been implemented yesterday as far as I'm concerned.

Lot of random knocks on Winston here. He has excellent arm strength and a choker? Did you happen to see his "worst game" (NCG) where he led the game winning drive and threw the TD with under a minute to go? As a freshman? Kid is a physical stud, and knows how to play football. On top of that his team absolutely loves him. Now anyone knocking his personal decisions, well, I can't really blame you for that. Everyone has a right to their opinions. I see him as a going to be great NFL qb if he decides to pass up being a first round pitching prospect. I don't think we'll see this kid getting in any more real "trouble" after college, either.

However point still stands that losing for a specific player in the draft is an absolute blasphemous game plan to have. Period .

The day Winston is the Miami Dolphins QB is the day I stop being a fan.

Any honest person knows he's a rapist. His "indiscretion" was shoved under the rug b.c he was FSU's only hope to win a championship.

Then, with all the money being shoved his way, he goes and steals... crab legs?

The only reason you steal in his shoes is for the adrenaline rush. He's a liar, thief and rapist -- all for the thrill.

No thanks.

I can honestly say I never rooted for losses to get Luck but I can also honestly say I was a little bummed when we left the race for the first pick. I don't think those are conflicting statements? :idk:

On the other hand I'm still sickened by Colts fans behavior, how did they think Peyton Manning would feel to see his supposed fans wearing t-shirts and rooting to get a new QB? At least we had literally nothing to lose and worse, we won enough games to retain Ireland somehow, but they were figuratively spitting in the face of their franchise. Karma would have been they lost both Luck and Manning, or Luck would at least suck, but looks like he's gonna be as advertised and they're set up for another decade. Though I think they let a real good head coach walk in Bruce Ariens, maybe karma isn't done with them yet and Pagano will hold Luck back for a bunch of years.

O wow, his teammates "absolutely loves him". Now that I know that it totally changes my mind.....................:rolleyes2:

I do have to agree 100% that the chances of him getting caught and charged with any more crimes as a Criminole is very small. At least if it happens in Tallahassee.

He's not a rapist, and he stole 30$ worth of items that he completed community service for. Let me know when he actually gets in trouble for something. It just sounds like a whole lot of mad from Gator/Canes fans in here.

you realize it's actually a little important as a QB in the NFL to have a team around you that actually enjoys playing for you? Not all QBs are naturally like that, it's called intangibles in case you were wondering.

Not going to get into this whole Tallahassee debate, as much as I'm sure you'd like to...that would belong in off topic. Maybe start a thread about football college towns cleaning up football players messes. I'm sure it would be a long list. As National Champs though, I understand we may be flavor of the week.

He IS a rapist and the only reason he isn't a convicted rapist is that he was protected from day one by the local police -- and then the judicial system after that.

3:30 a.m. rape call buried by police. Bruises on her body and semen found on her underwear. But BURIED by the university town as badly as Penn State buried allegations against Sandusky.

Intentionally buried from day one.

Only someone intentionally ignoring facts can call Winston "no rapist."

It's infuriating that supposedly good people will defend this piece of crap. Takes a special kind of person, I guess. Same kind of people that called Jerry Sandusky a good man.

OMG, I could not believe it when I read about what FSU did with their players Casher and Darby. It sounds like they took a slap on the wrist to allow Winston to go without any punishment.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A Florida State spokesman confirmed that football players Chris Casher and Ronald Darby were not expelled or removed from the football team after a disciplinary board ruled on charges they violated the school's Code of Conduct.

The two faced charges after they told police they witnessed sex between quarterback Jameis Winston and a woman who accused him of raping her in December 2012. Casher told police that he video recorded a portion of the encounter, but deleted the footage.

The board issued its recommendation to the Dean of the Students on Wednesday, 10 business days after it held a hearing.

The university did not provide details of the ruling, citing privacy laws. The accuser's lawyer, John Clune, released a statement saying the women is "generally satisfied" with the result.

"It was a little surprising that both were not held responsible, but that is the panel's discretion and she did feel as though the panel took their job seriously," Clune wrote. "All that our client wanted was for the process to take place and these issues at Florida State not continue to be swept under the rug."

Both players were accused of "conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment." Casher faced the additional charge of "recording of images without consent."

Darby's lawyer Tico Gimbel said, "We're happy with the decision and he's happy to put this behind him."

Casher's lawyer Adam Ellis also declined to specify details due to privacy laws, but said, "We feel like the process was fair. ... He's in Tallahassee to study and play football, and we're very pleased with the result."

Flash in the pan? Lol winston is way better than anything we have. He may be immature but he would have been the #1a pick in the draft if he could have came out.

I just hope anyone who's pissing and moaning about Pouncey isn't championing this lowlife rapist and thief who if anything now feels even more entitled thanks to the Teflon shield FSU and the Tallahassee PD wrapped around him.
