Hey all. Wish me luck up here at Eglin AFB/Ft. Walton Beach. Ivan has his bad-a$$ eye right on us here in the Panhandle! Go Fins!
 
If it's coming there just pray it moves through quick, we got hit by Frances here and it moving so slow really screwed things up. I pray Ivan doesn't move so slow!! But I wish no one was getting it at all!!
 
Did a lot of fishing in that area.A Lot of waterways.Watch out for that storm surge.

I was stationed there in Pensacola 2 years ago. My daughter is still there with my ex-wife. What's the latest? When is it expected to hit there? The last I checked, the Weather Channel wasn't expecting it to hit there until Thursday.

Last I heard was late Weds. or early Thurs. In between Mobile and Panama City, which of course is right here. My family headed out about an hour ago towards Atlanta and I will head when the Air Force says I can.

get a generator and lots of gas your gonna need it!!! i live on singer island wpb frances hit last saturday i still have no power or water, dont stay there if it hits you directly!! stay away from the eye other than that your on your own god bless, good luck, GET GAS!!! AND A GENERATOR!!
 
Good luck... With winds of 160mph, I would suggest getting out of there because that's like another Andrew. I live in WPB, and I thought Frances was very bad, but in reality it was only a cat. 2 storm.

Good luck and get the f out of town if it looks like the eye will hit you directly or even get close. I live in Vero Beach and just got hit by Frances and I still don't have power (went out on September 3):shakeno: . The winds weren't even as bad as they will be when with Ivan so expect massive damage. I was just shocked by all of the huge trees and almost all of the traffic lights that went down around here in 105 mph winds, not to mention how my grandparents house had the fence blown down and they had half of their patio ripped off their house. There's also a lot of roofs that have water leaking in them due to the shingles/roof damage so please be safe from one Fins fan to another.
 
Good luck to all those that may be affected by this. I just recieved pictures today from my best friend who lives in Ridge Manor, FL. Frances pretty much died down right over top of him, lucky for him.

He lives right on the river. He now ownes, at least for a short period of time, his own island. The flooding of the river has filled all of his retension ponds and essentially has cut him off from the rest of the town.

He is actually having fun with it, which suprised me. He now has a lake, so to speak full of fish and is enjoying watching their antics. He is just hoping they make it back to the river before the waters subside.

He's a big Titan's fan and called me the moment he got his power back... it was one hour before the game that his power was restored. We both grew up in Ohio so I can't blame him for the team he cheers for. I picked the Dolphins and he picked the Oilers and followed them to Tennessee.

Anyway, be safe and get out if told to do so!
 
if it makes you feel any better LtDan (and pisses Trebik off more)...I don't think the storm is going to hit anywhere east of Louisiana, but that still means you would get the outskirts of it. Better than the eye though

dude where do you live?

i live in stuart....i got hit pretty badly.....it did move really slow..:cry: ...lotta trees fell one fell on my house
