Dolphins | Witherspoon denies interest from Miami

Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald, reports free agent LB <A href="http://www.kffl.com/player/5650/nfl">Will Witherspoon (Panthers) denied the Miami Dolphins are in the running for his services. He said he was in Miami to attend a bachelor party that he had planned a long time ago. Witherspoon laughed and said he didn't meet with Dolphins officials while there celebrating the upcoming marriage of an old friend from high school.
 
This makes sense. Witherspoon didn't seem like the typical linebacker Saban would pursue. Personally, I think Hodge is nothing more than a contingency plan. If Arrington and Peterson can't be had, Hodge may get a chance to start (if and when signed).

I don't think Hodge is a contingency plan -- I think he is the plan. If one of the other guys falls into Miami's lap, so be it.
