I am becoming more convinced Saban will go to a trade or the waiver wire for secondary help. Last year he signed two guys off the waiver wire, and that very well could happen this year. Any thoughts about who he may target? Thompson from Tenn. has been mentioned. Any other guys out there? My two cents? Ware from Philly is expected to be cut and he is a guy that can play both cb and safety. Just a thought.

Our defensive schemes, expecially DB's, are way too complex for anyone to come in this late and contribute in a significant way. It would take half a season for anyone to come in and be of significant help. I just don't see this happening.

eddie jackson and kiwaukee thomos came in last year and both were able to contribute in a supporting role...

But Kiwaukee Thomas is no longer here. Eddie, on the other hand, is still here and still is capable of contributing.

Edit: Disregard that statement.

I see your reference, but I am trying to find the reference..

why would you say likely not playing when he and Kelly Campbell are both scheduled to play tonight.

Kelly Campbell and CB Michael Lehan: Both NFL veterans are set to make their preseason debuts after missing the Dolphins' first three games with injuries. Campbell (quadriceps) and Lehan (knee) may need quality performances to secure roster spots.
I had. They were listed among those injured and not likely to suit up. As soon as I find my reference I will post it.

its ashame we cant do anything with our secondary, we have a depth of decent players: Will Allen, Jason Allen, Renaldo Hill, Travis Daniels, Shirdonya Mitchell, Deke Cooper, Tavares Tillman, Yeremiah Bell, Andre Goodman.....yet out of those 10 guys, we cant have 4 starters who can make a good Secondary......what a shame. My prediction is W. Allen, Travis Daniels, Andre Goodman and and Tavares Tillman.

but it would still be worth it to pick up a few guys from the waivers...tonights game, i really hope Saban sticks to secondary all game....we already know that our run defense is great, we need to work on secondary the whole game...and figure out who goes where, etc.

imo

Schulters came in late and was 3rd on our team with 76 tackles forced 4 fumbles and led the team in interceptions. That being said I like what I saw from the first unit against Carolina. Sure Smith didn't play but Keshawn and Drew Carter are better than most WR tandems in the league IMO.

On phins.com there is a link called Rams at Dolphins from

the Sun Sentinel that is no longer acessible. I may be wrong, but the injury information was in that link. It is no longer a story at the Sun Sentinel site either, apparently replaced by 5 things to look for. I remember reading the injury report and immediately posting, so I didn't make it up. I for one hope Lehan plays.
But my opinion is that Miami will sign another player (ie. Ware from Philly, Thompson from Tenn).

Lee2000 p.s., I disagree with the post that the waiver guys can not come in and contribute; they did last year, abeit a little later than earlier.

Eddie Jackson has done enough to make this roster as the #4 CB. He played in the scheme all last year, even started at one point, and while he didn't do great, he didn't embarrass himself like Norman LeJeune tended to do.

Throughout the preseason he's served as our nickel CB because of injury to Travis Daniels, and he's done very well. Last year he was a waiver wire scrub but this year he's better. I honestly don't think we'll be doing anything with the secondary in terms of waiver claims or trades.

Wrong Ware, that is Scott Ware, a safety from USC

Ware was already cut by the eagles.

Eagles | Ware released

The Philadelphia Eagles announced SS Scott Ware has been released from the team.
The other, Matt Ware is from UCLA I believe, and is still on the roster. Look him up at NFL.com
