I really enjoyed this work up. There are a lot of parallels between the week-six infusion of Nick O’Leary this year and the week-six infusion of MarQueis Gray back in 2016.

Adam Gase has had anything but consistency at the TE position since he got here. He’s had to reinvent the spot over and over again.

I found some plays that were almost identical, but also some wrinkles Gase showed out of both 11 and 12-personnel looks, and using the TE as an up-back or inline. Videos inside.

Great job as usual. I enjoyed your work and thank you for sharing.

It will be very interesting to see which TE's are active and inactive this week. Derby is apparently getting close to being healthy. O'Leary played well last week and offers some better blocking skills, while Gesicki and Smythe remain decent development prospects for the future. While some FH posters have already written Gesicki off as a bust, I would not be surprised if Coach Gase decides to roll the dice and give him a lot more targets in a game (when no one expects it).

Great work Travis, always looking forward to your breakdowns. BTW, the podcast with you and the lockedonLions guest host was great! Thank you!

As long as Gesicki is on the bench, we can get better.

This guy killed us in Buffalo a few times. Surprised he was available. Had we signed him in the off-season we’d have a high round pick back.
