The team has many holes and depth to address. I could see them trying to trade back if the right deal comes along. I seen a post about Moses-OT from UVA. He knows the system and is a Lazor find. If they stay there at their pick do we as fans have a meltdown if they don't go O-line. I want the team better no matter what happens.

No. We need to use every draft pick on project defensive ends, tight ends and kickers. That's what Jeff Ireland would do. :chuckle:

BPA should be in play anyways, but I do think that Fox nails down RT with his signing today.

I might even be leaning toward Shazier at 19 and Ja'Waun James of UT at 50. I do like Zach Martin, but I think he is gone before 19. If Eric Ebron is there, I have to run the card up for him. Too good to pass up.

So if the Dolphins don’t take a quarterback, will it be a wide receiver or a pass rusher? Philbin indicated that his strategy might piggyback that of franchises he has identified as having success.

“The best team in the NFL if you study their draft history they taken the best players that are available,” Philbin said. “There’s a system in place to evaluate players to the best degree that we can, eliminate the guess work and make good decisions on guys that are gonna have productive, lengthy careers in the National Football League.”

I think it should be BPA almost every pick. For what we currently have on our roster the only position I'm not thinking of addressing in he first round is QB for the obvious reasons. You can argue that every other position (no K or P of course), can be addressed if the value dictates it.

You need a back up plan fox is very injury prone. But yes go BPA

Fox is in with a chance but given his history of different injuries that resulted in negligible playing time in Detroit, there is a high risk re availability. In 4 years he has accomplished very little in the NFL and Detroit ended up giving up on him and letting him walk. How can you expect him to nail down the RT spot? On the surface that seems an outlandish comment.

Jason Fox is good backup talent but if people are thinking he's the answer at right tackle, they're overestimating his ability to stay on the field. I have no trouble with the signing because I think acquiring better quality backups is a part of the equation, but some are going to make this move out to be more than it really is. In the past 3 years, Fox has only played 13 games. His longest season was last year and even then he only managed half the season. Being limited to rotating in to give someone a breather might keep him healthy for the full season, but there's no good reason to think he could start for us and play 16 games.

Every position should be in play in the first round this year except QB, and defensive line. I also would not take a running back in the first round of a draft as a rule, with few exceptions.

This, but if I recall correctly Hickey said as much, that they would be looking to draft based on BPA

I am a huge Buckeye fan. If Shazier could translate his college career into the pros...watch out. We really need a top notch linebacker. A big hitter. A Patrick Willis type. Those are not always easy to find

not sure why signing Fox. would affect our draft strategy at all. He has played in 12 games in 4 NFL years, been injured every season in NFL. If he is changing our strategy we need to fire some people right away.
