We already have Bush, Thomas and now Messam. Hilliard's roster spot (RB3 or RB4) should go to a young RB to develop while they play ST's. No need for Hilliard on this team, he sucks anyways.

With the signing of the CFL player we got I think Hilliard became expendable. Don't see him coming back.

Messum looks like competition for Thomas rather than Hilliard in that he's a big tailback rather than a fullback / special teamer

I think you are over valuing Messam. I know there is another thread talking this guy up like he's the next Walter Peyton, but this guy will be lucky to make the team imo. Messam cant block, catch, or play ST as well as Hilliard, and as a No. 3 or No. 4 RB, you need to be able to do those things.

Hilliard is a good special teams player, used as a fullback, and depth at HB. If his contract is minimum, there is no need to get rid of him. If they bring Slaton back then Hilliard will most likely be cut. Training camp will decide the HB position.
