With roster bonuses due March 1st, we need to cut a few people

Jerome Messam played special teams in Canada and he's already at least as good a blocker as Lex Hilliard.

Hilliard is a free agent and with Messam in town, the only way Lex comes back is if he signs for a minimum deal.

Marc Colombo should be the first bum cut from the team. In fact I don't know why the hell he's still on our roster. He should've been cut after the last game.

For those asking, Marc Columbo is a unrestricted free agent, so there is no cutting needed. Lex Hilliard is a restricted free agent, so I assume they will extend a qualifying offer to him.

If Lex is making the minimum as stated (or anywhere near that), I think he will be extended ... because contrary to a lot of chatter, we're thin on talent & depth. I think he's on the team until another can take his Roster Spot for RB & Special Teams.

These recent seasons scream we need talent ... (AND we don't want to get beat from Special Teams again) ...

How sure are you about that? He was drafted in 2008. Typically a man with 4 years in the NFL is an unrestricted free agent.

I'd like to keep Hilliard. He can play ST's, block, run the ball, and can catch out of the backfield. Since he makes almost nothing, it's worth keeping him.

Messam is also coming back from a knee injury (ACL? repair) which could take a full year before he preforms at NFL level, perhaps longer. This could place in on the practice squad?

I'd like to keep Lex as well. I saw the footage of the Canadian RB on here, if I were Lex, I wouldn't be to worried. I know it's early but the guy looked like a 3rd or 4th string NFL player in those clips.
