We will go ALL OUT on free agents and do massive spending since it will be Joe Failbins last season? I can't help but wonder that this will pummel the team even further down the hole with asinine contracts leaving the team in financial turmoil. Its been done before I believe.

I just wish we had a damn good owner.

I think that is one of the main reasons why Tannenbaum was brought in. He may not officially be Hickey's boss but i would imagine Ross asks his opinion before he signs off on any big money free agents.

I want to see pickups that can help this year, but also not be misfits if there is a coaching change.

If going all in means O-line then yes if not than no.

I dont see them going on a spending spree. I think they will sign a few 2nd or 3rd tier free agents, patch a few holes. Hopefully have a good draft.

Philbin and Coyle are as good as gone after next season. Unless they pull off some type of 360 with their coaching, there is no way we make the playoffs and Ross will then be forced to clean house and start over again hopefully with good cap room to make a splash in 2016 in Free agency.

I have a feeling, Ross and Philbin may not think we're that bad with the players we have now.. That scares me..

Who knows what they will actually do....but if it was me, I would go all out in Free Agency and not only fix....but significantly upgrade the D-line and the O-line. If you think about our division alone.....

Buffalo Bills - weak at the QB position and with Rex there will be a primarily running offense. Also an outstanding D-line. We need a good O-line to protect RT and a good D-line to stop the run.
NY Jets - weak at the QB position. Will be a heavy run offense and they have a very good defensive line. We need a good O-line to protect RT and a good D-line to stop the run.
NE Patriots - Great passing attack and good running attack. We need to put pressure on Brady as we have seen that this will work. We need a D-line that can consistently put pressure on Brady.

It starts up front on both sides of the ball. Our running game and pass protection all start with the O-line and our run defense and ability to pressure opposing QB's starts with the D-line.

You will have to free up some salary cap to do it, but when it comes to both lines.....FIX IT!!!!!!

If Tannebaum has the last word his mo from NY was to win now. Draft picks for high profile players and big spending on free agents. The future be damned.

Hope that's not how we go but i would not be surprised with an all or nothing approach need year. If it doesn't work out blame Philbin.

Personally i would try to build up the middle of both units with a guard or two , a blocker eating NT and a ball hawking MLB.
Maybe get a couple of these in free agency if not then in the draft .

I'd use the first pick on another weapon for Tannehill. WR or TE

If I'm the Hickey, I'm purging the roster of old deadwood. Getting as many top 100 picks as possible and then drafting as many play-makers as possible. Losing via scheme and stupidity is not the same as losing via zero talented players.

I think philmen will be 8&8 again with cole as def coach the team has got worse every year he has been here and just like him letting Von Davis go that was Coles doing what a nut

Championship teams are built with the draft

When Shula was run out of town they had just spent loads of cash on free agents, this is not the way to build a Super Bowl team.

we do have the 'good owner' as far as spending goes; it's his decision making that skews the perception... feel the Tannenbaum hire will aid in arresting overspending on FAs, dumping unproductive players, and getting draftees in the mix faster (ala Moneyball); but trust, Tannenbaum is running the show from here out

Extra point and definitely he choked for ****s sake of course he choked

Absolutely agree. Even if we have to virtually stand pat everywhere else, get the trenches fixed and injury resilient (quality depth). That should be the top priority for the combination of free agency and the draft. If we don't achieve a playoff caliber line on both sides of the ball this off-season, we might as well not bother watching next year. That, and pray Tannehill isn't crippled in the process.

Philbin might want that, but he probably doesn't have the cache to get that. Tannenbaum probably wants to tighten up the purse so he has more to work with when he axes everyone and takes over. Hickey probably wants to make very shrewd choices since he's auditioning for his next job.
