Now that Marcus Trufant and Asomugha have been slapped with the Franchise Tag, I say we make a run for Asante Samuels. He's only 27 so I say sign him to a 5-6 year deal. Now I know everyones complaining about how much he's gonna cost but he still has 6 or 7 great years in him. Thoughts?

He will be pricey, but might not be as much as Clements last year from what I heard. Hes young and talented, and would be a nice pair with Allen. Good pair of CBs again will be a great help for the D.

Yea, very true. A Surtain/Madison like duo is just what Miami needs to get back to the promised land. Him and Allen would be perfect.

If Trufant was not tagged I would prefer him over Samuels and that is no knock on Samuels moreso of indication of the value of Trufant. Getting Trufant now is no option. If Samuels will cost less than the Clements deal last I say pull it. But I would not pay a Clements deal or more for him. Its all about value without sacrificing talent / production.

Stay away from Asante! I don't like his attitude especially towards free agency.

Yea if he costs more than Clements then we should look elsewhere. But if not bring him in.

I don't like Samuels that much. He doesn't play man to man and i think he is good but not as good as most make him out to be. From here i say we either trade for someone like Hall form ATL or just get quality guys through free agency or through the draft because thats what we need. Quality guys will help us a lot more than one big name will.

I want DeAngelo Hall so much. But it's gotta be him or Asante.

or D. Florence. You guys have to trust me he is good enough to start on this team and make a impact and not for a outrageous salary.

Not only did the Raiders slap the franchise tag on Asomugha, they hit him with the exclusive rights free agent tag so he can't even negotiate with other teams.

As for Samuel, no thanks he isn't worth it.

Drayton Florence AND Charles Godfrey sounds better to me. And Vontae Davis next year sounds even better.
