Witness Describes Porter Fight As Something Out Of 'Rocky'

On Tuesday, witness Dave Benz came forward, describing the fight as something out of a "Rocky" movie."

They were throwing down," said Benz. "They must have each gotten in a good three or four swings. Then all of a sudden, the bigger guy who I found out later was Levi Jones, picked up Joey Porter and tossed him probably 10 feet like he was a rag doll."

Benz said there was about 10 seconds where people broke the fight up, but said Porter broke loose and went after Jones again.

"Joey Porter broke free and ran full sprint at Levi Jones and dove through the air at him like he was trying to tackle Ladanian Tomlinson. Took him down with a tackle, then the two of them got up. They were throwing fists again. It sounded like a 'Rocky' movie."

Benz said Porter later kicked Jones in the head, causing some bleeding.

Benz said the whole incident started when Porter confronted Jones while he was playing poker.

Sounds like Porter did. However, I really doubt Jones was able to pick him up and throw him 10 feet. With all these flying bodies, how is it the only injury is a small cut above Levi's eye? :lol:

I was wondering "just how bad" a fight between FOOTBALL players could be and "only" a lil' cut....
 
Ok so do we feel like this is the fire the team needs with another report lol.
we still don't know what happened but it sounds like he far from whooped up on Jones by this. In all it doesn't matter because this not the WWE.

i read a different eye witness account that said the fight started at a betting table, where the two exchanged words....

something to the effect of levi making fun of porter for leaving pittsburgh (selling out and dropping off)...

porter said something back....levi got up to stare him down and porter just knocked him cold with several punches...

this second eye witness does not make sense...especially since, porter was the only one charged...

Charges are made by an individual they are not an admission of getting your azz whooped. If someome jumps you and you kick thier azz you can still file assault charges.
 
no...im saying, if it was a mutual fight...why did porter walk away...porter was charged with battery, which immediately tells me, it was initiated and ended by one side...

Thats funny, the police said it started at a blackjack table! I'm calling bull**** on this alleged "eyewitness".
