It's not as bad as "Banana Slug", but it's up there.
Or the Fighting Artichokes, but both of those were selected by non-athlete students as more of a joke. The Wizards was actually meant to be serious.
Where are the Fighting Artichokes at? That's pretty damn funny. UC-Santa Cruz is in a world of its own. Up until a few years ago, they didn't give grades out, just "assessments" of how the professor thought you did and what you did best, worst, etc.
Wizards is probably the weakest name in professional sports, or at least one of them. OKC Thunder is another one.
Scottsdale Community College in AZ. The students changed their colors to pink and lime green too.
Thunder does sound like a WNBA team.
Their uniforms look like one too.
