I see the thread where everyone is already holding Grudens jock and handing him over the keys, but I want to know exactly why all of you are in love with this guy. Besides winning a super bowl with Dungys team, what moment while watching him coach did you all of a sudden say I have to have him as my head coach. I mean really how bout some instances or plays where you were blown away with him as a coach. Post them here cause I would love to be educated.

Now, I'm not saying I'm against him coming here, but what makes him this intellectual innovative mind that he should be coaching the Fins????? I'm indifferent. I mean come come on this guy uses his #1 overall pick and selects a FG kicker in the first round. And his explanation was because the raiders lost so many games by less than three points the previous year????? Seriously????? And we're complaining about Dabol right now?????

You do realize that he never had final say over personnel anywhere he coached? And that Janikowski was Al Davis' pick, no Gruden's... You need to go back and do some research before you start making threads.

The whole "Gruden won with Dungy's players" is way, way overplayed. First of all, Dungy wasn't the GM of the team, Rich McKay was. So in reality, Gruden won with the team McKay built while Dungy couldn't. The biggest knock on Dungy at the time was that his offense was way too conservative(sound familiar?) and he got fired after losing to the Eagles in back to back seasons. Next thing you know, Gruden comes in and wins the NFC Championship against the Eagles and later the SB. If anything, Tony Dungy is the overrated coach who you could argue only won his SB because of Peyton Manning.
 
Please merge this with the Gruden thread. The OP's topic isn't unique enough to warrant its own thread IMO.
 
lets also forget that Gruden won with TB over the team he helped build in oak. Pretty impressive
 
I dont know if you remember but Grudens Raiders were in the same super bowl he won??
 
So take away that hes a SB winning coach and there not much left to be impressed about :lol:

Take away all Bill B's rings and he really isnt impressive IMO.
 
Well Gruden also could have won a superbowl with his team if the Tuck rule wasn't created on the spot.

Also I'll take anything at this point and it doesn't matter what we think or what we want, what happens happens.
 
What I find weird is that based on any coach we could hire, to me Gruden brings with him the biggest possibility of us not selecting a first round qb this upcoming draft. He is known as a guy who does not like dealing with young qbs and has always tended towards vetrens. Something I do not want to see happen yet again.

give it a rest. theres already been a thread that compared gruden and cowhers merits ad nauseam. its pretty clear at this point Gruden would make an excellent choice. not that cowher wouldnt be a good choice either. gruden just has more. youth, experience, passion, QB development (see Rich Gannon haters), history of winning with 2 frachises, SUPER BOWL CHAMPION. ENOUGH SAID

I know, he's got the meanest scowl on the sidelines so we want him as our coach. He was the one who wanted the Sebatian pick, no one here is that dumb to think otherwise.

Hey, youre the one that came in here saying take away his biggest accomplishment and he isnt as impressive. Thats faulty logic.

As far as I'm concerned his draft in the first round for a place kicker is no better than anything Wanny did. I hope to god we have a real GM in place before we select a coach. He burned TB to the ground
