He is the 5th TE on a team that doesn't need 5 TE's especially along with 7 wideouts. He should not have been signed in the first place and would have been a cut if not for the team signing him this past year. Poor planning IMO that cost us Perry or Merritt.

He’s the only TE we have that plays the H-Back role. Shaheen is probably the TE that didn’t have to make the team

Carter did not take Perry or Merritt's spot. Grant did that-- at least for now.

Carter is a special teams player who will rarely see the field in any other way, like Fejedelem. I think too many people fail to see that most teams have a few players like this and get caught up in the positions that they are listed as playing-- because they really don't play those positions. They play special teams...

Well the mystery is solved. We know where the $3m the Grant restructure went. All is now right in the world.

Id rather have kept Mckinney and not saved his cap space instead.
