Worst Defense I've Ever Seen In History Of This League

And no I'm not exaggerating. I've ne dr seen guys so wide open. I've never seen running lanes like this. We get zero pressure on the QB. Burke is so lost its pathetic. I mean even high school covers their best recievers better than us. We stay in that soft zone regardkess of what they do. Our offense is far from being explosive but good gosh we give up points on every drive. We rarely get to recieve a punt!! What's sad is luck was on our side to get us to 3-0. Sam Darnold and David Carr gift wrapped red zone INTS that saved us. Same with Tribisky against the Bears. We are just very bad on D. Burke should be fired immediately but Gase is so stubborn he will keep him for asking as he's still here. Really depressing right now

You know, you may be right, it has been really bad. But there was a general lack of talent in 2007 in areas that just lead us to be gashed week in and week out. This defense is more capable than that, even if they are playing really bad right now.

The Bucs have had a defense about like this for a few years.

I agree there's more talent now, which makes it even more troubling. Total coaching failure.
 
Yea...I hate when Burke tell our DBs to blow coverages...such a weird strategy by him.

Here's the thing on that. Part of the job description, a big part, is to ensure your guys are mentally ready so that they are not blowing coverages. And it's his call to put 2 SS as the last line of defense...one of which cant really do safety things like tackle, cover and demonstrate range to disrupt the passing game. And we're not talking anomalies where you write it off as things happen. We're talking a a year to a year and a half (his whole term as DC) of consistent breakdowns and questionable personnel/scheme decision.

Im not one for knee jerk, fire everyone reactions, but there is something that is obviously not working with our D. He better make some scheme and/or personnel changes or he'll be looking for a LB coaching position sooner or later...
 
Top 5 defense week 1 and 2, now its a disgrace. Our DEs are completely invisible.
