Worst Fans in the League?

phin fans are SPREAD OUT, throughtout the country... i seem to believe there are more phin fans in VA than in FL, considering there are 3 teams in FL...

Saying that there are more Dolfans in Virginia than Florida is streching it but Dolfans are definitely spread out. If you look at the locations of people on this board, a lot of the people aren't from the Miami area. Also, it seems like there are always Dolphins fans at any road game. There were even more Dolfans than Charger fans at the game in Arizona last year!!

wait...I hope you mean that in a good way. You can try and bash the Bills all you want...but one thing you CAN NOT do is try discrediting the fans. If you try then you don't know what you are talking about. We have one of the bigger stadiums in the leauge, in a small market low income town, and have endured 3 non winning seasons. and we still sell out the games. and it is very very loud.
I went to a Buffalo game a few years ago and it wasn't as loud as it is in Miami... That's all I'm basing it on.

Overall I think the Dolphins fans rank near the bottom of the list in most areas.

There is no way that we are the worst team...The NFL is considering a franchise move to Anaheim, and our city isn't on the list and there is a reason for that...I think the short list includes Indy (most likely), San Diego and Arizona

Heh... I grew up in Rochester, NY and lived in Buffalo for 2 years.... As a city, Buffalo is very loyal to their team..... when they're winning. As a whole, they also have the rudest, most annoying and violent football fans I have ever seen in my life. Nothing against anyone on this board, or Bills fans in general, I have many friends who are, unfortunately, Bills fans that do not fit that mold. But, wearing a Dolphins jersey in Rich stadium was like asking for a fight for a while. Then the Bills got bad after their '90's run and the stadium calmed down somewhat with the worst of the fans not coming to the games to get hammered anymore.

It is definitely calmer and quieter in Miami, and it would be nice to have a more excited crowd as a whole in Miami, but Buffalo does NOT sell at all the games when the team is not doing well... I was witness to many blackouts living in Buffalo and Rochester.

Of course I'm not talking about US on this site, but how bout the way our stadium sounds during games? I've thought for years that we have the worst fans in the league and the worst home-field advantage (other than the effect of the FL heat).

Have you ever noticed how LONG it takes our fans to get back into their seats after halftime? For the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half the entire stadium is orange (from the empty seats).

Have you ever noticed how many people are reading newspapers and sitting on their butts when TV cameras scan the crowd? It looks like a damn nursing home sometimes.

Have you ever noticed that we don't have nearly as much passion and fire going on in our stadium as do the Raiders, Bears, Bills, and Browns, for example?
- Man ., I'd loved to have Green Bay weather right now. Have you ever sat in the old wok that was Tampa Stadium? How about the upper deck of JR? The same Packer fans would be gone by the 2nd q or they would be dead.

This sort of behavior is a fact of life in all too many sports stadiums around the country. A big part of it is that the tickets are so expensive that a lot of the hard core fans who would make noise can't go to as many games as I think we would all like them to go to.

I doubt Miami fans are the worst, mainly because it's pretty clear that Arizona fans are the worst in the league. Even they aren't worse than the worst fans in pro sports: Atlanta Braves fans. They can't even sell playoff games out unless they're World Series games...

I think the biggest reason the orange bowl used to rock like it did was the stands are a hell of alot closer to the field than they are at PPS

The problem with Arizona fans is that most of the Phoenix population has come from other parts of the country, and there isn't much of a long-time fan base here. I've learned this since moving here last year, and didn't realize it before that. It's not bad fans, just a bad team that's tough to rally support for, especially when the eams only been here for what, a decade or so?
I think things will change with Dennis Green in town. He'll make sure they field a better team, and make them more competetive starting this year. A brand new, state of the art stadium with a retractable roof will certainly help too.

Thajor,

I certainly hope you're right about the Cards. I rather like Denny, and I like several of their younger guys. They deserve good fans in the desert just like our Dolphins deserve good fans.

The Eagles have the best fans

In a sense, they also have the worst fans. Are there any other teams who used to have a judge and courtroom that operated during games?
