Worst offseason move was signing Wallace

Signing Wallace was the best idea in the offseason. Remember all the posters wanting that deep threat to take us over the top this year? Well, we have him, he's here.

Now, what people are having a lot of problem with is getting the ball there. I'd be willing to bet if Moore and Tanny were given 10 shots in practice to Wallace deep, Moore would win.

Ok, Ryan has this weakness. BUT, maybe we should look at his nepotistic qb coach. Why can't he give Ryan what he needs to coach him correctly? He obviously can't.

What we need to look at is hiring a consultant type coach fro Ryans deep ball to Wallace. That's where I'd start.

We didn't hive wheeler 60 million dollars so Wallace trumps him. Also 60 million for a decoy is crazy. Clay has stepped in for Keller and is probably outperforming what he would have done and Matthews has been equal to Gibson. We don't know how to build through the draft. Plain and simple we don't know how to build a team. I feel the only guys who you sign in FA are OL. If you know what you're doing as a GM everything else you should find in the draft.

Before I get hounded hear me out. Mike Wallace is a very good reciever, but not for this offense. We are a meat and potatoes, grind the ball offense. Short passes nothing more than 15 yards. Though it was exciting getting someone like Wallace, he is not what we need. This offense needs what we had in Brandon Marshall ( that type of star). Wallace is on the wrong team he shouldn't have left Pitt. He needs to be on a team where he isn't double covered and has a guy who takes pressure off of him. The reason we never progress is Our GM doesn't understand what kind of team we have and therefore, Doesn't bring in the correct talent, Or draft the correct talent. Now I think Dion Jordan is going to be an amazing player. But we shouldn't have drafted him. We do not need D Line depth. We should have given the money to solai and lock him up. Not drafting a OT was a huge mistake and we all know that. There were a lot of wr's like Keenan allen and rob woods who we could have gotten in 2 and 3 rounds. We always draft these small school receivers who rarely pan out and never take chances on Guys who went to big schools and fall. Like the above noted and missing on a fb like honey badger, which I know a lot of you bloggers wanted.
Let the blasting begin. Ireland is a problem and needs to go. He is an average GM who doesn't understand how to put a team together.

And I suppose that it is the fault of the GM that Tanny has not been able to hit Wallace in stride?
I am all for a front-office change, but the fact remains that Tanny has not been able to capitalize of Wallace getting open. It happened again yesterday....Wallace gaining 3 yards on the defender, and no ball on target.
Imagine your frustration if you were asked to run, at full speed, over and over again, beating your man, with no ball or underthrown balls heading your way?

An imagine what Brees or Brady would do with a weapon like that...????

Underperforming Fins QBs are exactly why we cannot find the VALUE in top-tier receivers. Welker for a 2nd..? Yeah, we did that.

I believe in Tanny, but make no mistake here, he has not shown the accuracy on the deep ball. If he improves to top-10 in this area, then trust me, Wallace will shine.

Wallace has shown some signs of giving up, but Tannehill cant get him the ball. at least once every game this season he has been underthrown when he was wide open for a TD. Either that or he throws deep out of bounds. Im sorry, Wallace can be a quitter but i cant blame him too much considering he always outruns the underthrown ball. Thats on Tanny.

Eh......

If memory serves me right, Wallace should have about another 5 TD's and 300 yards added to his stats if not for Tannehill under throwing him on multiple occasions and one pass interference against the Bengals.

Sure, Wallace is no Dez Bryant or Calvin Johson but the guy can play, and when used correctly is deadly.

Top 5 worst offseason moves, in my opinion:

1. Signing Philip Wheeler
2. Not Signing Bryant McKinnie
3. Not Signing Greg Jennings
4. Not Signing Reggie Bush
5. Signing Tyson Clabo. Combined with not signing McKinnie... disaster at the tackle position.

Honorable Mention: not moving on from Richie Incognito like they wanted to.

I honestly don't even think Mike Wallace cracks that list. He is a good player IF HE IS USED PROPERLY. He is not being used properly. Coaching.

I would say number one would be....not trading the second rounder for B. Alberts and using that pick to move up and get a players who's on the field less then 20 plays a game

I can understand why people would think he's the worst but he is being screwed in our game plan. What happen to WR screens to him? What about the odd reverse like every other WCO team does? Ryan needed to put that oout there for him to run under. He still doesn't understand Wallace's speed. Just throw it to a spot. I've been saying this all year, the long ball you can be so precise or you will under throw it. THrow it long and like your guy go get it. Especially when he has 5 yards seperation.

Wallace was a spalsh signing! I said it since day one, he came in to please the fans for a big name WR. We would have blown up the stadium had we gone into this season with Hartline and Gibson as our starting WRs. The FO knew they had the money to sign him and brought him in as a decoy and in hopes to get some value out of him. He is possibly the worst fit for the offense Philbin is trying to run, and he knew Jennings wouldnt be worth the investment. Wallace is a 1 trick pony, and we need to start using him how we should.

First of all Tanny has no time. His in accuracy is due to the lack of an OL. Tanny is very good and like any qb when you have protection, he can be great. Let's see what he can do when he's not in the top 10 of most sacked qb's. Tnny is not the problem.

Gotta love recievers that well their lack of production is never their fault. Brand Marshll may always be a head case but he allways produces.

Mike Wallace is a bad fit for this offense. He's just a bad fit. Here is why, IMO:

1. Not good at reading coverage and adjusting to it, which offense requires. Take a look at that 'dropped' touchdown a few weeks back, where Tannehill threw the ball to the pylon and Wallace cut back inside toward the safety. New England game, I think? Ryan Tannehill threw that ball perfectly. Mike Wallace didn't run his route the way the offense dictated. Result: incomplete pass instead of game-ending touchdown. That's far from the only example of that.

2. Offense doesn't use a lot of motion and typically just lines him up in the same place. He's rarely used in a bunch formation. There's no real effort within the scheme to get him free of press coverage which would make him significantly more dangerous.

3. The QB is asked to stay in the pocket and run a timing-based offense, rather than dropping back, buying time, and letting the play unfold. Bad fit for Wallace, who is not a particularly great route runner and is good at getting free on busted plays.

4. Awful pass protection limits the number of deep routes that can be realistically targeted.

That's not to say that Wallace has done a pitiful job of going up for the football on some of these, but he's a bad fit. And for what it's worth, go back and look at his play in Pittsburgh. He won some contested deep balls on 'underthrows' from Big Ben. So yeah, that part is on him.

That goes to my original thought that he is not the right we for this offense.

Not sure why everyone is bashing.

The guy should have at least 6 TD's for the season and another 2-300 yards.

7-8 times Wallace is wide open, beating his man by 3 yards only to be under thrown by Tannehill.

We should Hire the QB coach from FSU. ANything would be better than Zach

Well if mr franchise had some accuracy over 20 yards then maybe Wallace would be lighting it up. How many bombs have been overthrown under thrown or thrown out of bounds? I'd say atleast 4-5

And the reverse could be said about Wallace. If Wallace could run a route under 20 yards he'd be more involved in the offense. Regardless Wheeler is still the Gabril Wilson of this years off season signings.

If Tanny stops underthowing him, you are not making this thread. He's have at least 6 touchdowns this year if we can get the damn ball to him downfield. You have to remember that the Quarterback throws the ball and the Wr catches it.
